The Messenger - Eastern Hills Baptist Church
Pastor’s Paragraphs
We thank the Lord for
an outstanding experience this past weekend
in our church. What a
blessing came to us
through the ministry of
Siran Stacy and the
work of our Men’s Ministry. Join me in expressing appreciation to
Larry Kennedy, Randy Martin and so many
others who worked for months to prepare
us for what we experienced.
You may recall the special study on
prayer which was held on Sunday evenings
in January and February. It was part of a
growing awareness of the urgency of
prayer in every aspect of our church and individual lives. During the past year our
Prayer Committee has been seeking the
Lord’s direction for us. We have become
more aware of the value of corporate
prayer. Along with me, they have looked
toward the coming Sunday evening as a
special season of prayer for our church in
the weeks leading up to Easter and for
reaching people with the Gospel.
If we take the words of Ephesians 6:18
seriously, the only response a believer can
have is, “I must pray, pray, pray….whatever
else I may do, I must pray.” Sadly, many
believers do most of the other things of the
Christian life better than faithfulness in
praying. We must remember prayer is
God’s appointed way of doing business
with Him and for obtaining the most precious promises He has to offer for our lives.
Jesus said, “You have not because you ask
not.”
Therefore, I urge each of you to make
an effort to join us this Sunday evening
at 6 p.m. in the Sanctuary for a special
prayer meeting. No church and no individual is more in tune with God than the quality of their prayer life. I want you to come
burdened for the lost, those who have
dropped out of fellowship with the Lord and
for God to continue to pour out His Spirit
upon our church in the months to come.
This past weekend is just a preview of what
God could do among us if His will is sought
in prayer. If we take time to listen to our
conversations, it becomes obvious it is
mercy that we need and grace that we
must have. Prayer is the vehicle God
chooses to make special deliveries into our
hearts. Don’t miss Sunday evening!

Please contact Melissa or Mark
if you would like to take advantage
of this program.
The Hospice Pantry needs your help
to replenish our inventory. Our pantry

THANK YOU!
This year’s Wild Game Dinner was a
huge success. This evangelistic event
was made possible with the help and
support from our outstanding staff and
wonderful church members. Reaching
souls is a responsibility of all Christians,
and you helped in this regard when two
young souls walked to the front of the stage
to learn more about our Lord and Savior.
Thank you for your support and for the
hard work so many provided to ensure
this event was a success.
God Bless, Larry Kennedy

ON MISSION
Mission Nashville
Please be in prayer for our EHBC Acteens as
they prepare to work with The Next Door
ministry in Nashville, Tennessee on March
27-29, 2015. Acteens will be working with
children who call the Freedom Recovery
Community home. This community is
designed to help reunite women who have
been in prison with their children. They will
also demonstrate God’s love by serving and
ministering to the women who live in the
transitional housing of The Next Door. TND
serves as the next step for many women
leaving prison in Tennessee. We are most
grateful for the prayers and
support of our church family as we serve.
