President’s Message
Hello, fellow Orchid lovers!! Now that March is here, Spring has got to be just around the
corner!! I’m sorry that we had to cancel our February meeting, but the weather was so extreme, we felt
it best that everyone stay home, safe and sound (and warm!), and not venture out! Hopefully, the
weather will be more cooperative for this months’ meeting!!
We will have a Show Committee meeting @ 1:00, prior to our general meeting on March 15th. It is
important that everyone assisting with the Show try to attend this meeting, as the Show is right around
the corner! The Show Committee meeting is open to all members, and we encourage anyone who can,
please attend the meeting! We’ll need a lot of helping hands for our Annual Show, so anyone who can pitch
in, with even an hour or two of their time, would be greatly appreciated! No experience is necessary!
Well, after two months of inclement weather conditions, we eagerly look forward to having Mr.
Dennis Sandberg as our featured speaker! He will be sharing his presentation, “Orchids of Equador”, and
will also have a selection of beautiful orchids for sale to our members! Please bring a friend or neighbor to
come to the meeting with you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!
Also—just a reminder to all that the annual dues are due. Annual dues are $20 per member or
family. An application form is available on the website. I will also bring forms to the next meeting.
I look forward to seeing you on March 15th! We surely hope that the weather will cooperate with
us this month!! What a winter it has been!! Surely, sunny days are ahead!! 

Featured Speaker for March
Be sure to attend our March meeting! Dennis Sandberg will be offering a presentation on "Orchids of
Equador". Mr. Sandberg is from Newburgh, and is an orchid grower; he will be providing a slide
presentation of a recent trip to Equador, which was guided by Equagenera. Dennis will be bringing orchids
for sale, and in addition, will also display some of his plants at our show table. Please come and enjoy the
show—and bring a friend or neighbor!!

“Virtual” Show Table
Since our February meeting was cancelled, in lieu of our normal Show Table, Bill O’Connell has
provided us with a “Virtual Show Table”! He has been gracious enough to share some photos of
his flowering beauties (that he otherwise would have shown us if we had had a meeting!) 
