Month.
Organizations
throughout the region are doing
their part by raising money for
research, services and education.
Every dollar counts in the fight
against this insidious disease that
has impacted so many. Millions
have personally suffered from
breast cancer, and we all know
someone who has fought the illness.
Restaurateurs Adrienne and Andrew Latz want to do their fundraising part at their Latz's by the
Bay dining room in Somers Point.
On Saturday, October 26, Adrienne
will host Latz's Top of the Tea First
Annual Breast Awareness Tea.
There will be two seatings-12 p.m.

The “Best of the Best” has to be the “Seven Stars” Club at the Caesar’s
Entertainment group (Harrah’s, Caesars, Bally’s, and Showboat).
This past week they featured an ocean cruise to Bermuda for two with all
expenses paid. They provided a Bon Voyage party at Harrah’s and took
four busloads of happy “Seven Stars” members to the docks in Manhattan
to board Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) magniﬁcent brand new ship.
The one week cruise on a ship longer than three football fields was an
event to remember. Their special “Seven Star” promotion included food
and all adult beverages. Entertainment and sports activity opportunities
were there for the taking. So were a multitude of bars, nightclubs, and
upscale dining facilities along with a fair sized casino with new slot machines. The service was professional and very courteous. The slots were
predictably tight. The full service Spa was humongous, but clean and
well-staffed. Talk about a full-service cruise!
The weather in Bermuda was delightful. We particularly liked the fact that
we did not have to take an airplane to reach our ship. The NCL “Breakaway” ocean liner (a funny name for a ship, but perhaps better that the
Costa Concordia) comes highly recommended by Mr. and Mrs. “Wiz”
and we encourage you to book your next cruise with them. Or better
yet, become a “Seven Stars” member and let Harrah’s treat you like a king
or queen.

10/19 - Borgata - Jerry Seinfeld: Jerry Seinfeld is an American stand-up
comedian, actor, writer, and television/film producer, best
known for playing a semi-fictional version of himself in the
sitcom Seinfeld (1989–1998), which he co-created and cowrote with Larry David. For the show’s final two seasons,
they were co-executive producers.
In his first major foray back into the media since the finale
of Seinfeld, he co-wrote and co-produced the film Bee
Movie, also voicing the lead role of Barry B. Benson. In February 2010, Seinfeld premiered a reality TV series called
The Marriage Ref on NBC. Seinfeld directed Colin Quinn in
the Broadway show Long Story Short at the Helen Hayes
Theater in New York which ran until January 8, 2011.
Seinfeld is known for specializing in observational humor,
often focusing on personal relationships and uncomfortable
social obligations. In 2005, Comedy Central ranked Jerry
Seinfeld 12th out of 100 as the greatest comedians of all

11/1 - Boardwalk Hall - Phish: Phish will kick off its first fall tour since 2010
in Hampton, VA, playing three consecutive nights at Hampton Coliseum (October 18, 19 and
20). The East Coast run will also take the band to Rochester, NY, Glens Falls, NY, Worcester,
MA, Hartford, CT and Reading, PA. Phish will wrap up the outing with a three-night stand
at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ that begins on Halloween night. Ticket prices for each
specific date on the tour will include a free MP3 download of the evening’s entire show (a
fully mixed soundboard recording) that can be redeemed at www.LivePhish.com shortly
after the band steps off stage. The band released two live collections in the weeks leading

One of our favorite holidays is almost here. Halloween gives us all a chance
to be kids again. If you need some help with costume ideas, try exploring
your favorite dollar store or thrift shop for some inspiration. Also go through
your closets to see what you can transform into a costume. How about taking those old jeans and that shirt that you no longer wear and turning yourself
into a zombie. Just tear them up and add some fake blood, makeup and a wig
from the dollar store and you can become one of the undead!
If you’re throwing a party, there are lots of dollar stretching ideas that can add to the fun without breaking the bank. While
you are at the dollar store, pick up some spiders or other creepy crawly critters and put them in an ice tray. These creepy ice
cubes will make your guests scream! For a quick and easy cider, warm up your favorite brand of cider and add cinnamon
sticks with apple slices. For an adult version, add some cinnamon schnapps and enjoy.
Create an easy skeleton veggie dip with your favorite vegetables. Use cauliflower for the skeleton head and carrots or celery for the arms and legs, cherry tomatoes for the feet, olives for the eyes etc. Create your own unique skeleton or monster.
Just add the dip of your choice and you’re good to go. Caramel apples are a Halloween favorite for adults and children alike.
To start, get some wooden sticks at the dollar store and insert them into the apple. Melt some caramel candy in a saucepan,
with a little butter or condensed milk if you like. After dipping the apples in the caramel, roll the apple in some nuts, candies,
chips, coconut or whatever else you like. Place them on a nonstick cookie sheet to cool, and enjoy!
