Umicore Specialty Materials Brugge (USMB) in Belgium has more than 25 years of experience in the production
of catalysts for various applications. We manufacture high quality products under the surveillance of skilled
specialists.
Our Valikat line of polyurethane catalysts is especially suitable for CASE applications: coatings, adhesives,
sealants and elastomeres. The Valikats enable formulators to replace toxic mercury and tin catalysts by
sustainable and safe catalysts.

Under the trade name Valirex, we also produce
potassium based trimerization catalysts for the

Umicore offers a range of Valikat catalysts, in order to address the needs in distinct polyurethane systems. The
graph below illustrates typical curing profiles of Valikats compared to mercury and tin based catalysts. However,
every PU system behaves in a unique way, and laboratory tests are required to find the most appropriate Valikat
version, and the right catalyst load.
Under certain conditions Umicore can offer the service of technical advice for the reformulation of catalysts.
