CALIFORNIA TESTING IN 2015
The assessments that comprise the 2015 CAASPP
administration are a mix of online and paper-pencil
assessments. The online component contains the
Smarter Balanced English language arts/literacy
(ELA) and mathematics tests for grades 3rd – 8th. The
paper-pencil component includes CST/CMA/CAPA
science tests in grades 5th and 8th. Testing will begin
on Tuesday April 14, 2015.
Here are some tips for taking tests:
 Get enough sleep the night before the test.
Your memory recall will be much better if you've
had enough rest.
 Listen closely to any instructions. Be sure
you know what's expected of you.
 Focus
on addressing each question
individually. As you take the test, if you don't
know an answer, do the best you can or skip
over the question and come back to it after
you've answered other questions.
 Relax. If you're so nervous that you blank out, you
might need a mini-break. Of course you can't get
up and move around in the middle of a test, but
you can wiggle your fingers and toes, and take
four or five deep breaths.
