INTRODUCTION
COURSE CO-ORDINATOR
This is a three-day workshop on PBL. The first
day will be on the theoretical background of PBL.
The second day will be hands-on while the third
day, participants will be showcasing their
presentations. PBL has been defined as “active
learning” stimulated by, and focused round a
clinical, community or scientific problem. The key
notion is that learning commences as a problem,
query or question that the learner seeks to solve.
Herein lays the power of PBL because the learner
is required to solve a specific problem whilst
acquiring knowledge on how to solve similar
problems.
ASSOC. PROF. DR. ROZINAH JAMALUDIN
Rozinah
Jamaludin
is
an
Associate Professor at the
Centre
for
Instructional
Technology and Multimedia,
Universiti Sains Malaysia
since 1994 until now. She graduated with her
PhD degree from RMIT Melbourne in Elearning. Her major is in e-Learning and Web
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Design and Development.
1. To enhance knowledge, skills and attitudes of
participants in using PBL.
2. To promote the application of PBL in teaching
and learning process.
3. To enhance the knowledge and skills
regarding development of triggers for PBL.
4. To develop PBL triggers & tutor guides.
5. To encourage critical thinking among
participants.
6. To incorporate Web 2.0 tools into the
application of PBL.
7. To evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and
learning in PBL.
Deputy Director of Centre for Development and
Academic Excellence (CDAE) and very much
involved
in
research,
publications,
and
supervisions of postgraduates studies.
She is also the Master Trainer for AKEPT in
Higher Education and MQA assessor for both
public and private university. Besides training,
her
passion
on
internationalization
and
globalization makes her work with the ASEAN

A full refund less administration cost of 25% (from normal fee) will be given for cancellation received not later than 10
working days before the event. No refund will be made after this period. However, substitute participants are
welcomed at no extra charge provided written notice of at least 5 working days before the event is given to the
Organizer.
