Welcome from General Chair
On behalf of the Committees of International Conference on Nano Electronics Research and
Education, ICNERE 2014, I would like to address a welcome message as the General Chair,
along with Prof. Hidenori Mimura, Director of Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka
University as General Co-Chair.
It is a great pleasure to invite you to take part in the ICNERE 2014, a collaborating event
between University of Indonesia and Shizuoka University, Japan, which will be held at
Hamamatsu campus of Shizuoka University from November 24th to 26th, 2014. This ICNERE
2014 is the second conference since the ICNERE 2012 held in Bali, Indonesia, organized by
Prof. Djoko Hartanto of University of Indonesia in 2012.
The ICNERE 2014 conference will provide an important forum and opportunities for
researchers and engineers from the industries, and professors as well as graduate students
from academia to establish a scientific network and to discuss new ideas and developments
in the converging technology and educations of electrical and electronics engineering. By
attending the conference, you will become a part of the development of Nano Electronics
Research and Education.
Later this conference, a company visit to Kyocera Corporation and a short tour to some
historical places in Kyoto, designated as the World Cultural Heritage, are scheduled. Kyocera
Corporation is one of the representative electronics industries in Japan, famous for fine
ceramics components, semiconductor components, telecommunication equipments,
electronic devices, solar panel systems, and so on.
Lastly, we hope to welcome you to ICNERE 2014 Conference held at Hamamatsu Campus
of Shizuoka University this November. We are looking forward to seeing you at the
conference!

Official Greeting from the Faculty of Engineering University of Indonesia
On behalf of the Faculty of Engineering University of Indonesia, I would like to address a
welcome message to all distinguished speakers and participants in the Second International
Conference on Nano Electronics Research and Education, ICNERE 2014, held at Hamamatsu
campus of Shizuoka University from November 24th to 26th, 2014. This ICNERE 2014 is the
continuation of the ICNERE 2012 The International Conference on Nano Electronics Research
and Education, 8 – 10 July 2012, held at The Magani Hotel, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia. The aims of
ICNERE is to facilitate an important forum and opportunities for researchers and engineers
from the industries, and professors as well as graduate students from universities to establish
a scientific network and to discuss new ideas and developments in the research, education
and technology of electrical and electronics engineering, especially in the development of
nano electronics research and education.
Let me give a brief view of Faculty of Engineering University of Indonesia. Our school is
the largest faculty at University of Indonesia with student body reaching about 5803 students,
distributed 60% at undergraduate or bachelor level and the rest 40% at postgraduate (master
and doctoral) students. We have 7 (seven) departments, i.e. civil, mechanical, electrical,
metallurgical and materials, architecture, chemical and industrial engineering. For
educational operation purposes, these 7 departments are distributed to 12 study programs.
Currently, Faculty of Engineering UI has 203 full-time academic staffs with the following
composition: 50 full-professors (25%), 72 associate professors (35%), 59 assistant professors
(29%), and 22 lecturers (11%). The number is well-distributed and it has been providing
good impact for the academic atmosphere in terms of teaching and research activities. The
research focus in our faculty is defined as “Integrated Design in Urban Eco-Technology for
Quality Human Life and Environment”. This theme covers all research strength in engineering
and provides spacious room for building multidisciplinary research.
More specifically, I do hope this important event will strengthen collaborative interactions
such as staff and student exchange, international joint publication and public lecture
between Faculty of Engineering UI and Shizuoka University so that the various advancements
in research and education achieved by Shizuoka University could be adopted as a good
model for Indonesian scholars. In the future I expect ICNERE will attract participants from
other universities or research institutes worldwide.
Finally, I would like to express my great appreciation to the Organizing Committee;
Honorary Committee: Prof. Yukihiro Ito (President, Shizuoka University), Prof. Muhammad
Anis (Rector, University of Indonesia). General Chair: Prof. Masaaki Nagatsu (Dean of
Graduate School of Science and Technology, Shizuoka University) General Co-Chair: Prof.
Hidenori Mimura (Director of Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University); all
members of the International Executive Committee, International Program Committee, and
Local Organizing Committee, and Prof. Kazuhiko Hara, the Chairman of Program Committee

Special thanks to Prof. Michiharu Tabe and Prof. Djoko Hartanto who initiated this ICNERE
program.
I hope that this ICNERE program will continue to the next ICNERE 2016, ICNERE 2018 and
so on, to contribute to the development of world science.
Lastly I believe that all participants will enjoy in this conference in a beautiful city of

Makara Journal of Technology (MJoT: http://journal.ui.ac.id/technology) in collaboration
with ICNERE 2014, is pleased to encourage all ICNERE2014 participants to submit the
ICNERE 2014 paper to MJoT. All papers accepted and peer-reviewed in ICNERE 2014
Conference are eligible to be accepted and published in Makara Journal of Technology.
Makara Journal of Technology is supported by University of Indonesia and now is growing
to be an International Scientific and Engineering Journal publisher, while pursuing Scopus
index. Submission to MJoT is free of charge.
The format of the extended abstract described above is essentially the same as that of
MJoT “GFA-Makara Journal of Technology 2014” except for the header and the required
number of pages. The length of the manuscript should be between 4 to 8 pages. The
manuscript should be submitted by November 28 to:
