Les Hill

Les Hill has been involved in the Australian Film & Television industry for over 20 years. His on-screen career began on Home & Away in
1990 when he was 16 years old, and since then Les has appeared in Pirates Island (1991), Flirting (1991), The Beast (1996), Thank God
He Met Lizzie (1997), Pacific Drive (1997), Water Rats (1998), Wildside (1999), Road Kill (2001), various episodes of Home And Away
(1990-2005), East West 101 (2007), Underbelly (2008), Scorched (2008), Rogue Nation (2009), Separation City (2009), Recue Special Ops
(2009-2011), and The Great Mint Swindle (2012).
Les has also been involved in productions for the United States and has played roles in Steven Spielberg’s The Pacific (2008) and Terra
Nova (2011).
As well as acting, Les has is also involved in the technical and creative production process. He was a camera assistant over an 8 year
period as well as a camera operator, going on to create his own production
company, Pertinax Films. Among his creations were two
.
TVC’s for Strongbow Cider and the Sydney Morning Herald. Les also held the position of the Austral-Asian Manager for Pace Wetset; the
underwater film equipment hire company operating out of Panavision Australia. He has since created another production company
called LJ Hill Creative and is currently in the process of developing projects.
Les spent three and a half years in the Australian Defence Force. While working in an infantry based regiment, he was trained in a range
of areas including close quarters combat, unarmed combat and advanced weapon training.
Les is a conscientious member of the community. He was the driving force behind, and produced the TVC’s for the Prostate Cancer
Foundation of Australia in 2010 to help raise awareness for the disease. It involved 35 of Australia’s most well-known and respected
male actors, musicians and entertainers. He also executive produced another TVC for Redkite, who provide support for children and
young people and their families who are dealing with cancer.
In late 2013 it was announced that Les would reprise his role of Jason Moran in the sequel/spin-off series to Underbelly, Fat Tony & Co.,
which will screen on Channel Nine in 2014.
Les is also an experienced MC available for appropriate events.
