ACell, Inc. Names Elizabeth Smith Senior Director, Clinical Research
Columbia, MD - (May 18, 2015) – ACell, Inc. today announced the selection of Elizabeth
Smith as Senior Director, Clinical Research. In this role, Smith will lead all ACell clinical
research initiatives and offer strategic direction for the company’s research activities.
“Elizabeth has a proven track record of effectively leading clinical teams,” said James A.
D’Orta, MD, Chief Executive Officer. “As ACell continues to grow and help more patients
in expanding therapeutic areas, our clinical research program will be an essential driver
for regulatory approvals, secure reimbursement, and post-market adoption of our
products.”
Elizabeth Smith has more than 20 years of experience in pre-clinical testing, preapproval regulated trials, post-launch clinical evaluations, and compliant marketing.
She previously served as Senior Director, Clinical Research at AgNovos Healthcare, a
start-up orthopedic company. She has held clinical management positions at a range of
medical device companies including K2M, Zimmer, Inc., St. Jude Medical, and American
Medical Systems.
