Summer Recreation
The Ada-Borup School District will be running the Summer Recreation
Program once again this year.
Activity fees will be charged to help with expenses.
Compared to other communities, we feel they are
very reasonable.
The Summer Recreation program will start during
the week of June 1st. There may be other activities
taking place at the school and/or throughout the
community. We will do our best to work around
them.
Please take some time to review the following pages.

BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL
The following levels are determined by age level. The cut-off date is June 1, 2015 except for the Lake Agassiz
Babe Ruth Team and the 14 & under and 18 & under softball teams.

Youngsters will work on basic skills of hitting, throwing, catching, base-running, and fielding in a fun and
positive atmosphere.

Fundamentals of hitting, throwing, catching, base-running, and fielding will be taught. Intra-squad games will
be played. Eight year olds can play in this league if they do not want to play Pee Wees.

These two teams will play in the Ball 5 League vs. area communities. A complete schedule will be handed out

GIRLS 14 & UNDER AND 18 & UNDER AAU SOFTBALL
Teams will be formed for 18 & under and 14 & under (age as of December 31, 2014). We will have a team for
each level and participate in the Prairie Lakes League. Practices will be announced by the coaches and a
schedule provided to players at the end of May. There is a League Tournament in the middle of July and teams
can advance to the State Tournaments.

BABE RUTH BASEBALL (Ages 13-15)
The Ada-Borup Babe Ruth team participates in two leagues. They play in the local Ball 5 League where
the age is determined on June 1, 2015 and the Lake Agassiz League where the age is determined as of
May 1, 2015. The Lake Agassiz League is state sanctioned and the league champion has the
opportunity to move on to state competition.

ELEMENTARY SOCCER
(Boys and Girls: Grades 3-8)
Ada-Borup Community Education will offer a Saturday Morning Soccer Program for boys and girls in
grades 3-8 All times and sessions may vary due to weather, availability, and amount of athletes participating. A minimum of 20 athletes are needed to have this opportunity to play.

HOV Golf
YOUTH GOLF LESSONS (Ages 13 & Under)
HOV golf course will be giving golf lessons to the youth of the community (ages 13 & under). Lessons
will begin on June 12th and run until July 17th, start at noon and run for approximately one hour. We
may need to run multiple groups if the participation numbers of large.

Heart of the Valley Golf Course
$15.00 ($25.00 family max)
*Please note that the HOV golf course will be offering free youth golf M thru F from 9 AM-3 PM for all
youth aged 13 and under. The youth who are 14 and over will have the opportunity to purchase a
youth membership for $75.00, or be included in a family membership. Also, the HOV board wants to
make sure the free golfers ages 13 and under do not use the carts unsupervised.
SUMMER STEM CAMPS
The Ada-Borup School District will be offering the new STEM enrichment program this summer. During
these sessions we will focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics with hands on
learning activities. The knowledge in each of the discipline areas are essential for student success and
directly related to the real world. STEM is a problem-based learning approach that helps students develop critical thinking skills all-the-while exploring the world around them. Ada-Borup staff members will
be leading the instruction with the help of special guests who work in the field, Come and enjoy the
world of Math & Science!! It will be a blast!!

Ada-Borup Summer Speed & Strength
Ada-Borup will be offering two quality Speed & Strength opportunities for our youth this summer. Students
are welcome to participate in either program or both! Program A and Program B complement each other so
those that participate in both will be able to reap the benefit.
Program A: Focused on improving strength, speed and agility through weight training both in the weight
room and outdoors. Program Coordinator: Aaron Olson. Program will be offered T/R from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.
Program B: Focused on improving balance, speed, quickness, and overall strength through body weight exercises amongst other methods. Program Coordinator: Alex Gebeke. Program will be offered M/W from 6:307:30 a.m.

Program A: Students who have completed grades 5-12.
Program B: Students who have completed grades 5-12.
