In 1946 my father and uncle founded Apex Foot Health
Industries. Their goal was to design, manufacture and
supply state-of-the-art foot health products that provide
immediate relief from common foot problems and help
people live their lives more comfortably. Throughout the
years, we’ve stayed true to this goal and have introduced
many products and services that have become trusted by
foot health professionals throughout the world.
On May 1, 2005, Apex changed its corporate name to
Aetrex Worldwide and created three distinct product lines

the standard for diabetic footcare
Plastazote is a closed cell, cross linked, polyethylene foam designed to be
heat formed at 275° F to a positive model or directly to a patient’s foot. Its
comfortable feel, purity, light-weight and conformability make it the standard
material for diabetic and arthritic foot management. The constant dynamic
molding of an orthotic with Plastazote will redistribute pressure away from
a sore spot or bony prominence. Plastazote is available in four densities:
Medium, Firm, X-Firm and Rigid.
Plastazote Combination Sheets
Plastazote Double and Triple Combination Sheets are available with
Plastazote pre-laminated to other state-of-the-art orthotic materials such as
PPT and ThermoSKY. In addition, there are combination sheets comprised
of 2 densities of Plastazote - Medium/Firm and Medium/X-Firm. These
heat moldable combinations save valuable fabrication time and
provide excellent shock absorption and cushioning for your patients. See

Evazote is a closed cell, ethylene copolymer (EVA) foam designed to
recover rapidly and cushion sensitive areas. Evazote is recommended for

ThermoSKY orthotic material is a high quality, cross-linked EVA foam designed
to absorb shock while maintaining its shape. This light-weight material can be
easily heat formed or adjusted at 300° F. ThermoSKY retains its structural
integrity, assuring that your orthotic will not bottom out under stress.
ThermoSKY combines well with Plastazote to produce a light-weight
orthotic that will comfort and protect your patients with diabetes or arthritis.
Other uses of ThermoSKY include prosthetic liners, orthotic posting, heel lifts
and shoe elevations.
ThermoSKY can serve as a base, middle layer, or top cover for many types of
foot orthotics. In addition, ThermoSKY in 55 or 65 durometer can be used for
soling purposes.
Combination Sheet
ThermoSKY/Plastazote and ThermoSKY/PPT sheets are available in pre-laminated
sheet form. These heat moldable combinations save valuable fabrication time
and provide excellent shock absorption and cushioning. See page 27 for
more information.

Thermocork composite is heat formable and combines both strength and
flexibility. Orthotics made from Thermocork offer patients excellent shock
absorption, while maintaining its shape under severe stress. When heated

formed directly to a positive model.

Thermocork® Lite (#8014, #8015)
Thermocork Lite is a light-weight thermoplastic blend that combines cork with
EVA for greater flexibility and cushioning. This unique combination makes
Thermocork Lite very easy to mold and grind. Thermocork Lite is available in
55 or 65 durometer, and both densities will maintain their shape and context
under stress.

Carboplast Thermoplastic Plates are used to limit motion for conditions such as turf toe or hallux rigidus. With
multiple sizes and shapes, different footwear can be made rigid without removing the sole. Carboplast plates are
easy to fit and finish and can be customized by grinding or heat molding. They can be heated and reformed by
using convection ovens at a temperature of 400° F for 3 - 7 minutes. The plates come in a variety of shapes and
rigidities to meet all your patients needs. Carboplast is guaranteed not to crack or lose its shape or material
