Holidays
School will break up for end-ofTerm-One holidays next Thursday,
March 26th. We will have a very
brief Assembly in the Hall at
3.20pm and students will be
dismissed from school at the usual
time of 3.30pm. We take this
opportunity to wish all of our
families a safe and relaxing
holiday. Please note in your diary
that School commences for Term 2
on Tuesday 14th of April; Monday
13th April is a Pupil-free Day at our
school and for many other local
schools.
School council elections
At the close of nominations for
School Council we had received
nominations from Paula Thynne,
Natasha
Siryj
and
Tiernan
Humphrys for the Parent-Member
category and one, Andrea Lowe,
for the DEECD-member category.
These candidates were duly
elected and we thank them for
their willingness to serve in the
capacity of School Councillor. We
still have two Parent-member
vacancies and one DEECD-member
vacancy.
Pupil-free days
Our first Curriculum Day for this
year is proposed for Friday 27th
March, which is the final day of
Term 1. Our second Curriculum
Day is proposed for Monday 13th
April, which is the first day of Term
2. Staff will be working with
teachers from our surrounding
schools to further-develop our
ideas and techniques as we teach
your children.
Incursion March 26th
Students in Years 4/ 5 and 6 will
have the opportunity to learn
more about the culture of local
Aboriginal when Ian Hunter, a
member of the Wurundjeri wilam
clan visits our school on Thursday
next, the 26th of March. He is
descended from the Kulin Nation,
whose people shared the same
religion and language, and lived in
what is now metropolitan and
greater Melbourne.
Secondary School ‘Transition’ visit
Our Year 4/ 5/ 6 students will visit
Melba College on Wednesday 25th
March for an introduction to
Secondary School.
Coach approach
Our special sports program led by
the Coach Approach coaches has
now been completed. Once again
this has been a very successful
program enjoyed by all children
who
participated.
We
are
confident that our students have
now gained the skills and
strategies
needed
to
fully
participate in the Interschool Sport
Program which begins in Term 2.
