Participation Statement:
“I fully understand and acknowledge that there are risks and dangers associated with participation in
skateboarding; BMX riding, scooter riding and inline-skating which could result in bodily injury; partial and
/ or total disability; paralysis or death. As a result of this knowledge, I will not hold YMCA Fylde Coast or its
Management, Staff and Volunteers responsible for any accidents, injury, loss or damage whilst on the premises
unless there is evidence of negligence. By signing this registration form, I confirm that I have read and fully
understand the Rules and Terms and Conditions (see overleaf) and understand that wearing personal protective
equipment is strongly recommended. I hereby agree to accept full responsibility for my actions during
participation in the skate park.”

Rules, Terms and Conditions
Skate Park Rules
•
Using the skate park without paying will be treated as theft and
those caught will be removed from the skate park and subject to
ban.
•
Please use the provided seating areas when not riding. Sitting
within the skate park will cause an obstruction.
•
Wristbands must be worn at all times when in the skate park to
indicate you have paid for the appropriate session.
•
Do not move or re-arrange the street obstacles without first getting
permission from a member of skate park staff.
•
All individual skate park users are issued with a key fob for quick
check in. This must be presented on entry. Misuse will lead to
enforced restrictions.
•
Your equipment is your responsibility. All personal belongings
including BMX’s, boards, inline skates and scooters must not be
left overnight. Any such items will be removed and treated as lost
property.
•
Do not wax any of the skate park surface including rails and ledges.
•
Respect other users by riding responsibly within your limits.
•
Take care not to collide with others and to report to a member of
staff if you witness an accident.
•
Respect the authority of the skate park staff and do as they ask.
•
Show patience when riding alongside beginners and offer help if
you see someone struggling.
•
No snaking “jumping the queue”.
Skate Park Terms and Conditions
•
You recognise the risks involved in participating in Skateboarding,
BMX riding, inline skating and scooter riding and agree to ride at
your own risk.
•
You must report any damage to the facilities which may cause any
possible injury to other users.
•
You agree to waive liability claims against Air Skate Park, YMCA
Thornton, YMCA Fylde Coast, Management, Staff and Volunteers
for any accidents, injury, loss or damage whilst in Air Skate Park
unless there is evidence of negligence.
•
Bullying, intimidation, verbal abuse or violence of any kind will not
be tolerated and will lead to removal from the skate park and an
immediate ban.
•
You must pay at the Air check in reception before entering the
skate park area. Management reserve the right to refuse entry.
•
Helmets must be worn at all times by all users under the age of 18,
and those under instruction, YMCA strongly recommends that all
users over 18 years of age also wear helmets. Please ensure your
helmet is fastened correctly. YMCA strongly recommends you also
wear appropriate protective equipment such as knee and elbow
pads and wrist guards.
•
Unauthorised graffiti and tagging will not be tolerated.
•
Alcohol consumption in the skate park is strictly forbidden and will
lead to removal from the skate park and an immediate ban.
•
Possession or consumption of illegal substances will not be
tolerated and will lead to removal from the skate park and an
immediate ban.
•
Any person deemed to be intoxicated will be refused entry.
•
Smoking is prohibited throughout the building and outside all
entrances to the building.
•
The minimum age for general unsupervised sessions is 8 years.
•
No littering. Place your rubbish in the bins provided.
•
No mountain boards, mountain bikes or ‘heelies / soap shoes’.
•
No opening of fire exits other than in the event of an emergency.
•
Only single speed 24 inch max jump bikes allowed.
•
Do not tamper with fire extinguishers, fire alarms or emergency
lighting other than in the event of an emergency.
•
Ensure that your equipment is in good working order.
•
Only one participant to ride a ramp at a time.
•
You should not attempt any piece of equipment or manoeuvre that
you feel is beyond your skill level.
•
Spectators must not enter the skate park ramp area. Viewing from
designated areas only.
•
No food to be consumed on the skate park ramps. Food should
only be consumed in table area only.
•
Only plastic, re-sealable drinks containers may be taken onto the
platforms in the skate park. Canned drinks may be left by the
seating area. No glass drinks containers in the park.
•
We need to look after our park. Vandalism will not be tolerated and
will result in an immediate ban from the park. If you witness acts of
vandalism, you must alert a member of staff.
•
You must report any misuse or dangerous use of the facilities by
any person to a member of staff.
•
Skating or riding anywhere in the building other than the skate park
will not be permitted.
•
Please do not skateboard in the car parking area.
•
Do not leave your bags, clothing or valuables unattended. You
must use the lockers provided in the main changing facilities.
Alternatively belongings can be labelled and stored within the skate
park workshop store, however this is at your own risk.
•
Riders under the age of 10 years must be accompanied by an adult
and remain within the building.
•
Riders under 18 years must have completed the ‘Under 18
Registration Form’ signed by a parent or guardian.
•
Know your limitations and ride within them. Ride safely and have
fun.
•
Please ensure your equipment’s wheels are clean before entering
the skate park.

while particular rules, equipment and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist. All participants knowingly and
freely assume such risks, both known and unknown, and assume full responsibility for their participation and for having and using the appropriate
safety equipment. We do not accept any responsibility for other participant’s failure to comply with these rules other than due to our negligence.”
