ALPFA`s Got Talent 2014
ALPFA, the Association of Latino Professionals For America, is proud to announce its annual ALPFA’s Got
Talent Competition, one of ALPFA’s most anticipated marquee events taking place at the 43rd Annual ALPFA
Convention at the New York Hilton Midtown from August 6 – 10, 2015.
Approximately 3,000 attendees are expected and the excitement is already building for this year’s Convention
and the ALPFA’s Got Talent Competition. ALPFA’s Got Talent offers ALPFA members an opportunity to
showcase their artistic talents, while promoting their heritage and culture through various performing art
forms including music, dance, comedy, drama and others. It also offers the competitors an opportunity to win
fabulous prizes. Our goal is to connect individuals to the Latino culture through the performing arts.
The ALPFA’s Got Talent Competition will take place at the Convention on August 8th between 6:00PM –
9:00PM. The Event will feature 10 – 12 acts performed by ALPFA student and professional members. Each act
will consist of a 2-minute or less performance in any type of art form. After each performance, competitors
are judged by a panel of three celebrity judges, whom provide feedback to each performer on their respective
acts. The judges add a level of entertainment value providing feedback to each performer. Judges also serve as
role models. The judges do not score or determine the winner(s) of the Competition. The winners are
selected by the audience, who are given an opportunity to vote through a phone-texting system. First, second
and third place winners are selected among the competitors with the highest votes.
Aside from having a live audience of thousands of attendees, the ALPFA’s Got Talent Competition is streamed
live on the Internet to provide the more than 23,000 ALPFA members across the country with an opportunity
to enjoy the show. Prizes for competition winners included a 1st prize of $2,000, second prize of $1,000, and
a third prize of $500. The first prize winner also receives a complimentary Convention pass valued at $1350
for next year’s Convention.
