Message from the Commander
My dear American Legion Family, hope all had a good Easter. We’ve had a good Month.
Once again we were honored by the presence at our Post by shipmates from the USS Cole
during Fleet Week. Again, they were well received, and those of us who showed their
support for our men in uniform were heartily expressed. (Some crew members in uniform
showed up a day earlier knowing of US and threw our kitchen manager into a tizzy thinking
we had the wrong day!) I want to thank Eduardo Alves of Smithfield Farmland for the
donation of the Pork Loin that made a great meal for our guests. Thank you, I'm proud of all
of you. Again a special thanks to those who are 'the glue' who keep our Post afloat.
Our Mother’s Day breakfast had a fine turnout. Moms,...who better to honor? They furnish
and nurture our Veterans.
Thank you to all that turned out for our Memorial Day event. We must remember that it is a special day where we honor
our Veterans, especially those that gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Again, make a habit checking our bulletin boards. Not all Post activities are publicized in our newsletter.
Please continue supporting our Booster Club which is a tax deductible donation which is dedicated to our 'outside'
maintenance. Any questions, ask one of our officers.
Lastly, please encourage those you know to look into what the American Legion is about.
For God, Country and Family.

Well we did not make our 100 % goal, you will be receiving your 2016 renewal notices form National the
end of this month. Please renew when you receive these notices and don’t lay them on the kitchen
counter. Remember that you are part of tha largest Veterans organization that fights for the rights of all
Veterans. Our voices do count but only if you get those renewals in.

Message from the S.A.L Squadron
Commander
Hello Everyone,
I want to thank all of our Sons of the American Legion Members this year for getting us to 109% plus this
year. WE DID IT!!! With all of our New Members and Renewal Members we made our Goal. June will be a
quiet Month but please stay tuned. We are getting the Fishing Trip Charter settled and will have a great
Event.
We had a terrific Memorial Day Celebration. Thank you to all who attended. As always our Post does a great
job commemorating our fallen Heroes.
I am looking forward to a prosperous new fiscal year in July. Keep an eye on our Facebook page
American Legion Post 142 Pompano Beach, FL . The SAL will be starting one up as well.
God Bless our Veterans and Troops,
Paul Stawicki
