Pennie has spent 25 years teaching grades K-3 in Antioch. As
a three-time presenter at the Annual Year Round Education
Conference, Pennie has demonstrated her passion and
commitment to year round education. Not only has she served
as a Site Representative, but for the past nine years, she has
been AEA’s Executive Board Secretary.

Maria McClain is currently teaching at Deer Valley High
School. She has been a teacher with the Antioch Unified
School District for 27 years.

have the opportunity to apply for academic
scholarships. For the 2014-2015 school year, there are thirteen
(13) $400 recipients, and one (1) $800 Dwane Jones

Ashley Cooper, a third grade teacher at Lone Tree
Elementary had her class make a student-made video that
teaches and demonstrates ways to prevent bullying.

Suzye Farmer and Becki Saude of Fremont Elementary
presented a school-wide play, “Annie.” Students from
Kindergarten through the 5th grade were able to be creative
and show their talent outside of the classroom.

Trisha Gonzales-Waters, a RISE (behavior class) teacher at
Belshaw Elementary had her students’ plant and maintain a
garden which will consist of wildflowers and vegetables.
