Zimmer Biomet Dental Site Selection Announcement
Dear Colleagues,
After careful consideration, the company has made the difficult decision to consolidate the
Dental headquarters locations from Carlsbad, California and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida into
the Palm Beach Gardens location – pending close of the Zimmer Biomet merger. The Carlsbad
and Palm Beach Gardens site integration will start immediately, with an anticipated Carlsbad
headquarters closure in twelve months.
Integrating both headquarters facilities will allow us to build momentum and leverage one
another’s current capabilities more effectively, creating the dental implant company of the future.
This process involved asking challenging questions about our Company’s structure and how our
resources are deployed. In response, we have made tough decisions to reduce costs and
eliminate redundancies throughout Zimmer Dental and BIOMET 3i post-closing as we focus on
building more organizational momentum.
This will be a challenging time for Zimmer Dental and BIOMET 3i and will be especially difficult
for the individuals affected by these planned actions. These changes will be conducted in a fair
and principled manner, and anyone impacted will be offered severance benefits and
outplacement services to support their transition.
Moving forward, the Zimmer Biomet dental division will strengthen its U.S. headquarters product
engine in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Selected roles and positions will be transferred to Palm
Beach Gardens. Zimmer Dental Team Members who are interested in relocating will be
considered for positions at the consolidated headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens. (If you are a
Carlsbad-based employee who is interested in potential relocation, please notify your Human
Resources Department.) As the newly identified leadership teams work through the process of
identifying their new teams, open positions to be staffed will be posted online at:
www.zimmer.com/careers.
We are committed to being as transparent as possible about how your responsibilities may
change. With the newly identified future Zimmer Biomet dental division leadership team
communicated last week, we will work diligently to finalize transition plans and communicate
additional details in the coming weeks.
The future Zimmer Biomet is committed to the dental implant marketplace and will continue to
make the necessary investments to build a competitive portfolio, drive improved efficiencies and
increase customer satisfaction, with the intended outcome of improving each patient’s quality of
life.
The information provided and plans outlined assume a successful closing of the pending
Zimmer Biomet merger in the near term. Until such time, Zimmer Dental and BIOMET 3i
continue to operate as independent companies and it is business as usual.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
David Josza
