6. All organisms from the same species must be able to do what 2 things?
7. List an example of something that is not a species.
8. The key behind evolution is that individuals of a species are all different in some way from each
other. Humans, we are all different from each. Tigers, they are different from every other tiger.
What term is the key behind evolution and means we are different from others in our species?
9. An animal that started off without wings, but gained wings over millions of years that helped it
survive in its environment, would be an example of which vocabulary word.

occurs thru 4 main principles.
13. Write down the main idea (in blue) from page 308. (This is a very important sentence!)
14. There are 3 pieces of evidence for evolution starting on page 310. Pick ONE and list it. Now,
explain what it is and why it is important to proving evolution.
15. Look at the homologous structures on figure 10.11 on page 312. There are 3 examples shown.
Homologous structures like these look (similar or different). These structures do (the same job
for each animal OR different jobs for each animal).
16. Read what a vestigial structure is on page 314. Write down the definition for vestigial structure
and give me one example of a structure that no longer has a use.

Argumentative Paragraph:
Pick a side…Evolution or against Evolution. Write 5 sentences proving your point.
It must be in this format.
1) Topic Sentence- Tell me whether you agree with or disagree with
evolution.
2) Describe evolution in one sentence. It means that species
__________ with ________ and that species get (more fit or less
fit) in their environment. (This is a great sentence if you supply the
blanks with your own answers, but feel free to describe evolution as
you want to.)
3) Give me one sentence showing proof for why you agree or
disagree with evolution. (If you agree, there are examples of proof
in the book.)
4) Give me one more piece of evidence showing your side, just like
you did in Sentence #3.
5) Concluding Sentence: Start this sentence off with the words “In
closing, “or “In short, “or “In conclusion, “. The concluding sentence
tells me whether you agree or disagree with evolution, similar to how
you did in Sentence #1.
