MINUTES ALPURRURULAM LOCAL AUTHORITY Held Wednesday 29April 2015 Alpurrurulam Service Delivery Centre, 132 Antyiper Street. 1. MEETING OPENING Community Coordinator Troy Koch opened the meeting and introduced CEO Edwina Marks and Director of Communities Skye Price to the attendees. 2. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS LOCAL AUTHORITY MEETING 3.1 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES MOTION That the Minutes of the Alpurrurulam Local Authority held 29 October 2014, be accepted as true and accurate. COUNCIL REPORTS 5.1 COUNCIL REPORTS MOTION Council reports presented by CEO Edwina Marks, Community Coordinator Troy Koch presented Alpurrurulam Service Delivery reports. LOCAL AUTHORITY ISSUES 6.1 FINALISE LOCAL AUTHORITY FUNDED PROJECTS & BUDGETS An amount of $67,751 is available to be allocated by the LA on projects that benefit the community and don’t replicate government services. The previous meeting allocated funds to two items and the remaining balance of funds is $ 56,764 Following a discussion, the following list of projects were identified. MOTION That twenty five thousand dollars ( $ 25,000) of the local authority funds be carried over into the next financial year to purchase a bus. Moved: Johnny Barber Second: Natasha Long CARRIED UNAN. 4/15 6.2 FINALISE LOCAL AUTHORITY FUNDED PROJECTS & BUDGETS MOTION Four thousand dollars $4,000 to be allocated for Softball Uniforms & equipment for women sports events. Moved: Natasha Long Second: Maxie Ray CARRIED UNAN. 5/15 6.3 FINALISE LOCAL AUTHORITY FUNDED PROJECTS & BUDGETS MOTION Ten thousand dollars to be allocated to upgrade the un-gazetted road where the Sandover Highway ends. This road is used as an access road to Mount Isa. OTHER BUSINESS 7.1 REVIEW OF THE CEMETRIES ACT Presentation made by Community Coordinator Troy Koch to the Local Authority in regards to the Cemeteries Act on behalf of The Northern Territory Government. 7.2 OPPORTUNITY FOR GAS PIPE LINE FROM TENNANT CREEK TO MOUNT ISA Community Coordinator Troy Koch presented information who received recently in regards to a Gas Pipeline from Tennant Creek to Mount Isa. Information was received from Gemena, one of the contractors tendering on the contract. Also Lake Nash Station & the Community Coordinator are working together to get a sealed & gazetted road from Alpurrurulam to Mount Isa. 7.3 Chairman of the Local Authority, Maxie Ray tended his resignation as Chair. He told members he still wanted to stay on the local Authority. However, members did not accept his resignation and asked him to stay on. 8. VISITOR PRESENTATIONS Nil 9.
