2015 SPRING TURKEY CONTEST
Sponsored by the Pocono Mountain Chapter of
The National Wild Turkey Federation
Divisions
Youth Division: Includes Junior license holders and Mentored Youth Permit/ License holders.
Adult Division: Includes all licensed hunters not eligible for the Youth Division.
General Rules, All Divisions:
Entries will be accepted only at Dunkelberger’s Sports Outfitter in Brodheadsville, PA.
All participants must register in advance. No entries will be accepted after the start of the contest.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
If the applicant has purchased a second Spring Gobbler tag, they may submit an additional Official Entry Form
and Fee by the division deadlines listed below.
Scoring will be performed only at Dunkelberger’s Brodheadsville.
Scoring will be done 7 days a week, during store hours. (Phone: 570-992-3865)
Any turkey LEGALLY harvested in Pennsylvania by a registered participant will be eligible for the contest.
All turkeys MUST HAVE a properly filled out, 2015 harvest tag attached to the bird.
All division rules and timelines must be adhered to.
Any rule violation will be deemed grounds for disqualification.
Scoring
Scoring will follow the NWTF point scoring system using weight, beard(s) length, and spur length.
Multiple beards will be counted. Beards are measured to the end of the longest strand.
Both spurs will be measured and scored. If a bird has multiple spurs, only the longest spur on each leg will be measured.
Bearded hens will be scored in the same manner as male birds.
Turkeys will be weighed as presented.
All scoring by Dunkelberger’s Sports Outfitter personnel is final, no appeals.
Important Dates
Youth Division:
All Youth Division entries must be submitted with payment before Friday, April 24th at 8pm.
The contest will run from Saturday, April 25th to Saturday, May 30th.
All turkeys must be submitted for scoring by May 31st at 4:30pm.
Adult Division:
All Adult Division entries must be submitted with payment before Friday, May 1st at 8pm.
The contest will run from Saturday, May 2nd to Saturday, May 30th.
All turkeys must be submitted for scoring by May 31st at 4:30pm.
Friday, May 5th the winners of each division will be announced.

1st Place: Ameristep Posse Blind
2nd Place: Triple Toe Turkey Vest
3rd Place: $50 gift certificate to Dunkelberger’s Sports Outfitter
4th Place: Maestro Big Love Box Call
5th Place: Paid dinner to the 2016 NWTF, Pocono Mountain Chapter Banquet
