BOSTON CHILDREN’S THEATRE
PROUDLY PRESENTS
‘THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK’
--Production to honor 70th Anniversary of Anne Frank’s Death
Performances April 18 – May 2 at the Calderwood Pavilion --- Tickets On Sale Now -March 23, 2015 (Boston, MA)-- Boston Children’s Theatre (BCT) is proud to present the
powerful stage production of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK. In honor of the 70th
anniversary of Anne Frank’s death, BCT will perform THE DIARY OF ANNE
FRANK April 18 - May 2, 2015 in the Wimberly Theatre at the Calderwood Pavilion,
Boston Center for the Arts.
“Anne Frank’s story remains timeless, and it was one of my favorites as a child—largely
due to its incredible personal insight into a tragic part of world history,” said BCT
Executive Artistic Director Burgess Clark, who is also directing the production. “Anne’s
unwavering faith in humanity is why I believe the story has been so popular for over 60
years and has come to define and transcend the holocaust. With this being the 70th
anniversary of her senseless death, I feel it is our duty to introduce her compelling story
to each new generation.”
THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK tells the story of a 13-year old Jewish girl in hiding
from the Nazis in Amsterdam during World War II. The winner of the Pulitzer Prize,
Tony Award, Critics Circle Award and many other honors, THE DIARY OF ANNE
FRANK is adapted for the stage by Frances Goodrick and Albert Heckett from the book
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl edited by Otto Frank.
Directed by Clark, the play features a cast of talented young performers including
Andover student Alex Hanscom as ‘Otto Frank’; Belmont student Isabelle Luongo as
‘Margot Frank’; Beverly student Zehava Younger in the title role of ‘Anne Frank’;
Brighton student Joshua Mooiwer as ‘Mr. Dussel’; Brookline student Kira Shannon as
