Who we are
British Photovoltaic Association (BPVA) is the National Trade Association of the UK solar photovoltaic industry. The BPVA is a
strong political and commercial organisation and has become the industry’s favourite platform since formation in 2010. As
the leading and most influential voice of the industry, we have made a significant contribution to the growth of the UK solar
industry in the past few years.
The BPVA is working hard to make solar PV a mainstream and significant energy source by expanding markets, removing
market barriers, strengthening the industry and educating the public on the benefits of solar energy.
The BPVA stands for quality and value to its members.
Our mission is: “To ensure that solar photovoltaic energy is established as the leading renewable energy source in the UK”. We
promote solar PV at national and international levels and assist our members in their business development in the UK and abroad.
Governance
The BPVA is a fully independent not-for-profit organisation and the only trade association in the UK with 100% focus on solar
PV. The daily activities of the association are overseen by a dedicated in-house team covering membership management,
marketing, events, finance and policy. The Executive Committee is responsible for the strategic planning and its members are
selected from various membership categories representing all members’ interests.
BPVA has seven Working Groups (Policy, Finance, Education, Application, Communication, Construction & Energy Storage)
aimed at sharing knowledge and resources, channelling members’ expertise, advising key decision makers, market
development and coordinating policy and lobbying activities.
