Child-friendly hours: Monday-Thursday 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Dress Code is in effect and strictly enforced at all CareerSource Brevard Centers
Business casual or professional attire is acceptable
Please, no food or drink permitted in any CareerSource Brevard Centers
Pre-Registration is required for workshops. To pre-register:
 Log on to www.careersourcebrevard.com.
 Click on the calendar icon located on the left side of your computer screen.
 Click on the date of the class you are registering for.
 Find your class in the list of activities and click on it.
 Read the class description and click on registration link. This takes you to Eventbrite to complete registration.
Note: If you do not have an express or Veteran’s gold card, please arrive early to obtain one.
Please note that all workshops are scheduled to begin on time. As a courtesy to other
participants, there will be no admittance 10 minutes after the start of a workshop.

NEXTGEN INFORMATION SESSION - For young adults ages 18-24 who have a
high school diploma or equivalent and not enrolled in school. Must be actively
seeking employment. Session includes overview of no-cost assistance available,
eligibility review, program application and next step instructions to enroll. Dress
for an interview.

JOB CORPS ORIENTATION. Are you 16-24 years old? This is a free education
and training program assisting young people learn a career, earn a high school
diploma or GED, as well as find and keep a good job.

Classes listed below are approved activities to comply with your Reemployment Assistance
weekly requirement. Must have employflorida.com account
PREPARING FOR THE INTERVIEW. Focused on the importance of preparation and
practice; this workshop is focused on reducing the anxiety and stress associated with the
interview. Understand how non verbal body language, targeting your answers to what an
employer is asking and generating meaningful questions will separate you from the other
candidates!

RESUME LAB: This unique workshop is designed to assist individuals who have
completed their resume(s) and would like an opportunity to have them reviewed to
identify and recommend any changes that will enhance their document. All participants
are required to bring a printed copy of their updated resume and job description to the
workshop. Each student is required to have attended Resume Writing Workshop prior
to attending. Sessions are conducted in a small group format. Seating is limited to six.

BIZ LAUNCH. A networking, support and skill building group for those with an
entrepreneurial spirit. Share, discuss and explore solutions in real-time. Topical
presentations and workshops facilitated by business professionals and successful
entrepreneurs will provide the tools needed to go from business idea to launch.

RESUME WRITING Today’s resumes need to be a commercial of your talents, not a list
of job descriptions. Understand the working philosophy of your resume. Learn how to
market your Skills, Knowledge and Abilities that an employer’s is looking for through
value and creativity.

LINKEDIN More than 75% of employees obtain their employment through some
element of networking. This workshop will focus on the ways you can use LinkedIn to
network and to research your industry, look into a company, and learn about job
openings. The workshop will discuss how to create a LinkedIn profile, processes and
methods on using LinkedIn as a job board and how a recruiter will use this site for finding
potential candidates. This is not a hands’ on workshop.

JOB HUNTING MISTAKES: Are you willing to do anything, done a lot in the past or just
don’t know part of your employment vocabulary? This workshop is designed to identify
more than 20 different Job Hunting Mistakes. Through a better understanding of a
properly sequence approach to reemployment, each student will be able to identify the
difference between job searching or implementing a logical reemployment plan.

IDENTIFYING TRANSFERABLE, MARKETABLE AND SELF MANAGEMENT SKILLS:
Employers basically look at three types of skills: Job Related, Transferable, and SelfManagement. These can come from your life, your work, and your educational
experiences. This workshop is designed to identify and successfully communicate your
skills to a potential employer and promote the skills you have to what an employer is
looking for.

Processes. This workshop will guide you on the path towards reaching realistic goals,
and the energy it takes to achieve and maintain them. Understanding the relationships
between Habits, Behaviors and Willpower, as well as knowing the difference between
Interest and Commitment will ensure your goals will always be obtainable.

strategies and self awareness, this hard hitting workshop is focused on identifying the
most common interruptions of working time and ways to eliminate them. Through
practical techniques, concepts and strategies you will have the power to create, organize
and master that “To-Do List”.
