2015 Appeal Packet Due Dates:
10 Grade March 30th and 9th Grade March 31st

DO NOT PLACE DOCUMENTS IN BINDERS. AN INCOMPLETE PACKET OR A PACKET WHICH DOES
NOT ADHERE TO THE CRITERIA LISTED BELOW WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR REVIEW.
Submit copies of the original documents of report cards/transcripts, test scores, awards, etc. Do not submit the originals. All
documents submitted with the Appeal Packet will be kept for our files and will not be returned. All documents must be arranged
in the order listed below. Staple the documents in the upper left hand corner. All packets must be hand delivered to Cass Technical
High School on the day(s) specified below between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.* It will take approximately 30–45 minutes to
register your appeal packet. An appeal number and receipt will be assigned to you and must be retained for future reference.
All Students must have a 3.0 G.P.A. to Appeal for Cass Tech High School
Order of Documents
1. Report Cards / Transcripts from 7th & 8th grades for the 9th Grade Appeal Packet; 8th & 9th grades for the 10th
Grade Appeal Packet
2. Standardized Test Scores Northwest Evaluation Association ( (NWEA), Measures of Academic Progress
(MAP), MEAP Scores etc. (most recent year available)
3. Student Essay explaining why he or she wants to come to Cass (limit to 2 pages)
4. Four (4) Letters of Recommendation (from English, mathematics, science, and social studies teachers)
5. Copies of Awards (Limit to 4 awards or certificates)
6. Immunization Record(s) for students
7. Copy of Birth Certificate for students (Certificate of Live Birth is not acceptable.)
8. All documents required for Specific Learning Disability, Individualized Education Program (IEP), and/or
health related concern(s) must be included to ensure appropriate intervention for related services.
9. Official school behavior history report for middle school.
10. Cass Technical High School 2015 Application (see attached)
11. Detroit Public School Enrollment Form (see attached)
12. Copy of Parent/Guardian Driver’s License/State ID or Current Bill or Lease with same address as student.
Students can apply to Cass Technical High School from charter and private schools. Students who live outside
the city of Detroit may also apply. There are no residency requirements for admissions.
ALL APPEAL PACKETS MUST BE HAND-DELIVERED TO CASS TECH.
NO FAXES, EMAILS, OR US-MAIL DELIVERIES.

APPEAL PACKETS for upperclassmen are due Monday, March 30th
APPEAL PACKETS for 9th Grade students are due Tuesday, March 31st
Special Admissions via Audition Window Period
Monday, March 23rd through Friday, March 28th
If you feel you qualify for consideration for Special Admission via Audition, you must first submit an Appeal Packet by
the deadline dates specified above then schedule an appointment for audition via e-mail to the appropriate department
