Cawleys Quality & Environmental Advisor We are recruiting for a Quality & Environmental Advisor. This position will be responsible for keeping the business up to date on existing and all new legal requirements affecting the Company and the Waste Management Industry. Ensuring the Company’s various Insurance policies are renewed on time at best possible price and cover. Managing and investigating any claims/complaints and issues affecting the business in relation to the environment. Ensuring Managers and Supervisors are aware of the compliance requirements that affect their departments and area of responsibility. Key accountabilities & responsibilities: • Responsible for ensuring the legal requirements are fully communicated across the business and the SHQE Manager is made aware of forthcoming legislation or Insurance policy changes that could affect the business in a timely manner. • Amending and updating the appropriate Company Policies as required to meet the Company’s legal obligations for Compliance and the Environment. • Investigating with the appropriate department Manager any Odour or Environmental complaints received by customers or residents. • Attending and representing the company at residents meetings on environmental issues. • Reporting in a timely well written manner incidents and complaints as required to the SHQE Manager. • Ensuring compliance is maintained for the ISO9001 & ISO 14001 systems in support of the SHQE Administrator. • Supporting Managers through advice and investigation audits of their departments in order to maintain compliance. • Assisting in liaising and negotiating with Insurance Brokers and Insurance Companies to ensure the Company costs are minimised whilst maximising the cover. Ensuring that renewals are completed effectively and on time. • Ensuring all claims are managed correctly and Managers are involved as required and investigations are completed correctly and on time. • Developing, implementing and monitoring Environmental Management Programmes and initiatives. • Monitoring environmental aspects and impacts. • Responsible for the completion of the Air conditioning survey and Asbestos Audits. Key skills and knowledge required: (i.e. those required to fulfil role, including qualifications): • Educated to degree level, NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management, or equivalent NVQ level 3 in environmental knowledge and experience of Quality & Environment systems management ISO9001 & ISO 14001. • Previous experience of working within the Compliance, Quality and Environmental department is essential. • Experience of working in the waste industry desirable. • Excellent PC spreadsheet and report writing skills are required. • Fluent both in written and spoken English Language Personal Style and Behaviour: Lively and friendly personality. Highly motivated. Also a real team player happy to work with colleagues to get the job done but also able to work on own initiative. Flexible attitude to work. Terms: Monday – Friday 8.30am -­‐5.30pm. Salary dependent on experience. Laptop and Mobile Phone supplied for work purposes. 29 days holiday (including bank holidays).
