TOURNAMENT RULES (NON SANCTIONED TOURNAMENT)
1.
Entry will be open to all members of the Carson Country USBC who have either an established book
average with CCUSBC or who have bowled 21 games in a 2014-15 CCUSBC sanctioned league. Every
entrant must be a member of USBC. Unmarried students under the age of 18 must file a parental consent
form.

Entrants must use their highest CCUSBC sanctioned league average, regardless of whether bowled as a
regular member or a substitute. Averages will be accepted in the following order:
a.
Highest Winter 2013-2014 book averages.
b.
Highest current average for at least 21 games as of January 1, 2015.
c.
Highest current average until tournament time to establish 21 game averages.
d.
Highest 2014 Summer league average of at least 21 games.
e.
Highest average shown on bowl.com within a three year period.
f.
Entrants without average will be given no handicap and will bowl scratch.

The entry fee for this tournament will be $20.00 per person; $60 per Team (3 person team).
Entry fees – Cash, Check or Money Order. Make checks payable to CCUSBC. Returned checks not made
good prior to squad time will void entry. Entrant prior to squad time must pay all bank charges for returned
checks or entry will be void. Full payment of all entry fees must be submitted with entry form.
Entries open on March 23, 2015 and walk-ins are welcome.
CHECK IN: FOR PRE REGISTERED TEAMS: Thirty minutes prior to Squad time, the entire team, with
current USBC cards. FOR WALK IN TEAMS: Sixty minutes prior to Squad Time, the entire team, with
current USBC cards.
Baker-Style Format. The tournament shall consist of a THREE-PERSON TEAM (a team can consist of 3women or 3-men or 3-mixed) and the team entering average is capped at 600. Baker Format Example:
bowler #1 bowls the 1st, 4th, 7th & 10th frames, while bowler #2 bowls the 2nd, 5th, & 8th frames and the #3
bowler will bowl the 3rd, 6th & 9th frames; bowler #1 bowls first the first 3 games, bowler #2 bowls first the
next 3 games, and the bowler #3 bowls first the last 3 games.
An entrant may participate in the event two times; however, 2 or more bowlers on a team will be
considered the same team and may not place more than once in event prize. Substitutes will be allowed.

In the case of an emergency after a game has started, substitutes will be allowed if no substitute is
available, only the frames bowled will be allowed.
Any player or team arriving after the game has started, will be allowed to bowl, however, scores will count
beginning in their first frame bowled. No score will be given for frames missed.
This tournament will be handicapped based on 90% of the team cap (600).
All prize money will be returned 100% in the event collected. Payout ratio will be 1:4. Winning House will
receive a Trophy.
All USBC Rules not mentioned will apply. Tournament Management shall decide any questions not
covered by the rules. The decision of Tournament Management will be final unless appealed in
accordance to USBC Rule 329.
Error in scoring must be reported prior to the start of the next squad.
ALL RECAPS MUST BE SIGNED by team captain. It is each bowler’s responsibility to verify that
their scores have been written correctly as all recaps are official records of scores bowled. If recaps are not
signed, scores will be accepted as read.
Tournament Manager must be advised of substitutions at least one hour before the scheduled bowling time.
A substitute will not be required to reimburse the original entrant the fee paid nor shall the substitute be
expected to give the entrant any prize money the substitute may win.
The lineup will be the same as shown on the entry form.
Entries will be scheduled according to requests if possible. The Tournament Manager, except for an
emergency, will not change the schedule. The Tournament Manager will assign lanes.
Bowlers will not make corrections to the scoring units or recap sheets. Only Tournament Officials will be
allowed to program, correct and record scores.
Any protest affecting eligibility or playing rules must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Manager
before the tournament prize payments are made. Recaps are official records of scores bowled.
A tournament entrant will not be allowed to re-bowl a game or series, except as authorized by the
tournament management when the scores are irretrievably lost from an automatic scoring device.
In the event of ties, prize money will be divided accordingly.
Only bowlers and officials will be allowed in the playing area. NO food or beverages will be allowed in the
playing area. Only Tournament Officials will be allowed to program, correct, and record scores.
Bowlers using loud or abusive language or conduct unbecoming of a bowler shall have one warning. If
misconduct continues, bowler will be removed from the lanes. The bowler will forfeit any awards and prize
money to that event.
All other USBC rules not covered will apply and will be strictly enforced.
Reasonable attire is requested and determination of reasonableness is at the discretion of the Tournament
Committee.
There will be two teams (six people) on a pair of lanes; Tournament Management will do its best to
accommodate pairings requests if noted on entry form.
