MONOLITHIC WATER-COOLED GAS BURNER

Challenge
Used to heat quartz glass to extreme temperatures, burner assemblies
face a short lifetime due to excessive temperature-induced wear in
material and connections.
Solution
By developing a monolithic burner with an optimal cooling design
and printing it directly in high-temperature-strength Inconel alloy, the
burner lifetime tripled and production downtime was greatly reduced.
Challenge:
Combustion chambers typically
have a low performance/weight
ratio, because time-consuming
manufacturing and assembly is
required.
Solution:
Printing the combustion chamber
as a single part integrating
multiple functions, ESA improved
performance, increased
manufacturing speed and flexibility,
simplified assembly, and reduced
weight via a low-density mesh.
