MISSIONARIES of the
PRECIOUS BLOOD
This year we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the founding of
the Missionaries of the Precious Blood (C.PP.S.).
We are marking the jubilee in a number of ways. Our celebraƟon
will culminate with a public event on Saturday, August 15, 2015,
at our motherhouse, St. Charles Center in Carthagena, Ohio.
This day will include:
•
•
•
A presentaƟon celebraƟng the C.PP.S. Missionary Spirit, at 1 p.m.
in the auditorium of St. Charles. This presentaƟon will explore
the missions and ministries of the C.PP.S. and celebrate the missionary spirit that the C.PP.S. hopes to encourage in its parishes
and ministry sites.
An outdoor Vigil Mass at 4:30 p.m. Archbishop Dennis Schnurr of
the Archdiocese of CincinnaƟ will preside. Fr. Bill Nordenbrock,
C.PP.S., moderator general, will be the homilist. All are welcome
at this liturgy under a tent on St. Charles’ spacious front lawn.
A picnic dinner at 6 p.m. All are invited, but space is limited;
registraƟon is required and is limited to the first 1,000 guests.
If you would like to join us for the picnic meal, you must register.
Printable forms are available at cpps-preciousblood.org.
Also part of the C.PP.S. jubilee year is JubilaƟon!, a day of praise and
service for youth and their families, on Sunday, August 9, 2015,
at the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein (Ohio) and the Maria Stein Shrine
of the Holy Relics. It begins at 1 p.m. and includes an outdoor Mass at
7:30 p.m. with Bishop Joe Binzer presiding. Fireworks will follow Mass.
St. Gaspar del Bufalo founded the Missionaries of the Precious Blood
in 1815 in Italy. St. Gaspar once said, “Would that I had a thousand
tongues to draw every soul to the Precious Blood of Jesus.”
Missionaries currently minister in 20 countries around the globe.
