Denise Stadter is a Temporary LMHC (Licensed Mental
Health Counselor) employed by Children & Families of
Iowa as a Family Therapist. Denise graduated from
Augustana College with a Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology and Sociology and from Olivet Nazarene
University with a Master of Arts in Professional and
School Counseling. She has over two years of
experience working in the mental health field.
Denise uses a reality-therapy based approach with her
clients by working with them to identify behaviors in their control and evaluate
their readiness for change. She implements an eclectic approach with her clients
and has received training in several theoretical approaches including CognitiveBehavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy. Denise
strives to create a therapeutic environment for each of her clients and tailors
treatment plans to the specific needs of each client. Her initial visits are
dedicated to gathering client history, completing an assessment based on
psychological and social history, and building rapport with clients. She then
develops treatment goals based on the information shared in initial sessions.
Denise has experience working with a wide range of clients however specializes
in serving adolescents and young adults.
Denise accepts Medicaid, UW, and private pay clients. She is a member of the
Iowa Mental Health Counselor Association.
