Automatic Qualifier to NCAA Championships
The winner of the Conference championship shall represent the Conference in the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis
Championship. In the event the Conference championship has not begun and cannot be played, the automatic
qualification berth shall be awarded to the No. 1 seed. In the event the Conference Tournament has begun, but
cannot be played to completion, the automatic qualification berth shall be awarded to the highest seeded team
remaining in tournament.
Awards
A Pac-12 trophy will be provided to the Tournament-winning team. Each member of the winning team will
receive an individual award presented by the Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament. All awards will be presented on
court following the final match.
Courts
All doubles matches will be played on Upper Libbey Park court Nos. 1, 2 and 4 unless both coaches agree to
use a different configuration after consultation with the chief umpire and court scheduler.
All singles matches will be played on Upper Libbey Park court Nos. 1-4, and Lower Libbey Park court Nos. 7-8
(the two courts to the left upon entering the facility).
Credentials
Upon arrival at practice, a credential will be provided for each coach and trainer submitted in advance on the
team’s travel party list. Credentials shall be worn at all times throughout the Tournament. Without a credential,
team personnel will be required to show a photo identification to be matched to the team’s travel party list for
entrance.
Hotel
There is no headquarters hotel for this event. Teams can use the Ojai residential housing program or contract
separately with a local hotel in the area.

Lineups + Protests
Each of the eight conference men’s tennis teams will submit lineups for the championship, via email, by 5 p.m.,
the Sunday prior to the championship. All lineups must conform to the ITA’s “order of strength” rule. At 9:00am
on Monday, there will be a seeding and lineup conference call, hosted by the Pac-12’s staff liaison to men’s
tennis. During this call, seedings will be confirmed, details for the tournament will be finalized, and a team’s
lineup will be reviewed by the group upon request by any coach. Lineups that have been questioned must
receive a majority of votes to be approved for the tournament. A lineup not receiving a majority vote will need to
be altered until it receives a majority vote.
Match Completion
Ongoing singles will be discontinued when one team reaches four points and has been declared the team
winner. The third doubles match will be discontinued when one team has won two doubles matches and
secured the doubles point.

Media
The Pac-12 will coordinate posting results at www.pac-12.com at the conclusion of each day, including a daily
recap. A photo gallery will also be uploaded daily. New to 2015, is the launch of “The Ojai” app for smartphones and android devices. The app will display the daily schedule, tournament program, maps, pictures,
ticket information and other tournament-related information. The app is available to download for free online at
Apple and Android stores.
Each program is required to send an up-to-date roster (e-mail or web link) to Kyra Geithman at the Pac-12
Conference and Steve Pratt at the Ojai Tournament by April 17, 2015. Rosters should include player names,
year is school, hometown, and phonetic pronunciation for the purpose of team introductions.

Parking
Each men’s team will have two weekday passes for Tuesday through Friday and one weekend pass. Parking
passes allow parking at the “jail” adjacent to the Libbey Park Bowl. The appropriate pass should be visible in the
vehicle’s windshield. Parking on the street is permitted but may be problematic if returning later in the day.
Playing Rules
All matches shall be governed by the ITA rules book. The ball change policy shall be the same as the NCAA
Championships: one can per set. All doubles matches shall be played as eight-game pro sets.
Results Distribution
Institutional SIDs and coaches will be provided scores ASAP via e-mail. Match results are posted outside of the
media hut for on-site review by teams and fans. In addition, live online scoring will be available at pac-12.com
and ojaitourney.org.
Scoring
The following scoring system employed by the NCAA Championships shall be used:
The matches shall be regulation dual matches with three (3) eight-game, pro-set doubles played for one team
point, followed by six singles matches, each valued at one team point, played best of three sets. Regular scoring
will be used and a 12-point tiebreaker will be played at eight games all in doubles and at six games all in singles.
The team winning four or more team points advances in the championship bracket.
Seeding
Seeding for the championship shall be based on the won-lost percentages of the teams during Conference play.
In the event of a percentage tie between two or more teams, the seeding shall be determined by:
ØØ The head-to-head results between each of the tied teams against the other tied team(s). If a team is
eliminated as a result of this procedure, the procedure will be reapplied to the remaining tied teams.
ØØ If a tie still exists, the team with the higher ITA national ranking on the most recent published list prior to
the final weekend of the regular season shall receive the higher seed.

Team Tents
Pre-match meeting tents, adjacent to the courts at Libbey Park, will be provided to each competing team.
Teams must vacate their meeting tent immediately following their match, in order for the next participating team
to move in. Gatorade will be provided in each team tent.
Tennis Balls
The Wilson U.S. Open extra duty ball will be used at the Pac-12 Tournament. This is the ball to be used at the
2015 NCAA Championships.
Tickets
Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.ojaitourney.org/tournament-info/tickets or purchased in-person,
on-site. All tickets are general admission.
Trainers
Two athletic trainers will be provided by the Conference for each round of the tournament and all practice
rounds. The Pac-12 training tent will be located adjacent to Libbey court #3, next to the Ojai “tea tent”.
Additionally, teams may bring their own trainers.
Travel to Championship Site
Teams should consult with their athletic department and Faculty Athletic Representative to determine the most
appropriate departure date from campus.
Umpires
A minimum of six USTA certified umpires shall be assigned for each match. Warm-up times
Players will have a maximum of three minutes warm-up with an opponent. However, if the teams have not been
able to take their 30-minute warm-up before the start of the team match, a 10-minute warm-up is permitted.
The umpire is the timekeeper. If a match in progress is stopped because of rain, the participants will have a
10-minute warm-up with opponents if the delay has been less than one hour. If the delay has been one hour
or more, the participants will have a 20-minute warm-up with their teammates and a five-minute warm-up with
their opponents.

Singles players needing to warm-up for their matches will use the fourth court at Upper Libbey concurrent with their team’s doubles matches.
Each day’s second match will begin not before the time listed in the bracket.
