Regular Meeting
April 21, 2015
CALL TO ORDER – ROLL CALL
Mayor Carl A Shaw called the regular meeting of the Edgemont Common Council to order at 7:00 P.M. on
April 21, 2015, at the Edgemont City Hall. Present were Council members, Ann McDermand, Carla Schepler, George
West and Sandra Woodward. Barbara Strozewski was absent.
The Pledge of Allegiance was stated.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS
No conflicts were heard.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Ann McDermand made a motion to approve the April 21, 2015 agenda. Motion seconded by George West.
Motion passed with unanimous vote.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Sandra Woodward made a motion to approve the April 7, 2015 minutes. Motion was seconded by Carla
Schepler. Carla Schepler, George West & Sandra Woodward – aye. Ann McDermand – abstained. The minutes are
unapproved.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Law Enforcement – Martha Jarman
Public Works Committee – Sandra Woodward stated that the crew was busy helping Goldenwest with
locates, the sprinklers at the park, mowing at the cemetery and water breaks.
Ordinance Committee – Carla Schepler – the work continues on several Ordinances.
Finance/Personnel Committee – Sandra Woodward and Ann McDermand
Mayor – Carl A Shaw stated that the airport inspection has been completed and is now open, the fiber optic
line crew created a water leak and he wants to remind everyone of the Town Hall meeting for the proposed
water project will be held on April 23, 2015 @ 7:00pm @ the St James Parish Center.
APPROVAL OF CLAIMS
Ann McDermand made a motion to approve the April 21, 2015 claims totaling $42563.54. Motion seconded
by George West. Motion carried with unanimous roll call vote.

OLD BUSINESS
APPOINT SANDRA WOODWARD AS COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE FOR SHEDCO
Ann McDermand made a motion to appoint Sandra Woodward as the Council Rep for the Southern Hills
Economic Development Corporation. Motion was seconded by George West. Motion carried with unanimous roll call
vote.
NEW BUSINESS
APPROVE USE OF CITY PARK FOR SIMONS FAMILY REUNION – AUGUST 1, 2015
Sandra Woodward made a motion to approve the use of the City Park all day on August 1, 2015 for the
Simon’s Family Reunion. Motion was seconded by Carla Schepler. Motion carried with unanimous roll call vote.
APPROVE EDGEMONT VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT LIST OF VOLUNTEERS
Carla Schepler made a motion to approve the Edgemont Volunteer Fire Dept list of volunteers as follows:
Dustin Aldrich, Josh Barker, Kelvin Barker, Daren Berg, Dave Cortney, Jim Curl, Jerry Dibble, Everett Englebert, Josh
Harding, Mark Jones, Toy Litzel, Paul Nelsen, Jason Ostenson, Lane Ostenson, Ben Reutter, Dustin Ross, Brice
Schumacher, Alfred Schutt, Carl Shaw, Justin Sogn, Bob Stevens, Randy Stevens, Nate Trotter, Wyatt VanEaton,
John Weber. Motion was seconded by Sandra Woodward. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
APPROVE AND SIGN YMCA POOL CONTRACT
George West made a motion to approve and have the Mayor sign the 2015 YMCA Pool Contract. Motion
was seconded by Ann McDermand. Motion carried with unanimous roll call vote.
ACCEPT WANDA BINGHAM’S RESIGNATION
Ann McDermand made a motion to accept Wanda Bingham’s resignation with regret. Motion was seconded
by Carla Schepler. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
APPROVE ADVERTISING FOR CLEANING POSITION
Sandra Woodward made a motion to approve advertising for two weeks for the cleaning position. Motion
was seconded by George West. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
ELECTION CANVASS
Carla Schepler made a motion to approve Shirley Horton, Bev Carlson, Ronnie Straub & Dianna Johnson for
the election board members. Motion was seconded by Sandra Woodward. Motion carried with unanimous roll call
vote.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Public comment was heard.
ADJOURNMENT
Sandra Woodward made a motion to adjourn @ 7:25pm. Motion was seconded by Ann McDermand.
Motion carried with unanimous vote.
The next regular City Council meeting will be held May 5, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
