M-Step Testing:
All 11th graders will continue to take the M-Step Test. Testing should conclude the week of May 22, 2015.
Academic Reminders:
Parents please refer to last week’s Newsletter regarding academic opportunities for students who are currently
failing a class.
Excellence Award Banquet:
On Thursday, May 14, 2015, CMA will host its Annual Excellence Award to honor seniors that have maintained a
3.0 or higher for 4 years at Breithaupt Career and Technical Center at 6:00.
National Honors Society Induction Ceremony:
On Thursday, May 14, 2015, CMA will host the National Honor’s Society new member Induction Awards
Ceremony at Breithaupt Career and Technical Center at 6:00.
Senior Spirit Week:
The seniors are going out with a blast. The week of May 18, 2015 through May 22, 2015 there will be posters of
details regarding the seniors only theme for Monday – Thursday. See Koren Browning or Devin Davis for more
details.
Progress Report/Extended Day Reports:
On Friday, May 15, 2015, Semester 2 “P4” Progress Reports and Extended Day school report cards will be
distributed during 6th hr.
Senior Tee Shirts:
Any senior who would like to purchase a Class of 2015 shirt may do so during lunch hours. The cost is $12.00.
UAW Summer Enrichment Program @ CMA:
All Detroit Area High School students can participate in a Summer Enrichment Program to receive special
training, OCLEX hours for graduation, and an opportunity to participate in weekly Field Trips. Applications can
be picked up from the Main office. See Mrs. Odom or Ms. Arrington for more details. The deadline is Friday,
May 8, 2015.
CMA Applications:
CMA is accepting applications for the Fall 2015-2016 school year. Applications can be picked up from the Main
Office or printed from CMA’s Website (cmahigh.com). The deadline to submit applications is May 21, 2015.

TO ALL VARSITY STUDENT-ATHLETES
There will be an important meeting for all varsity (only) student-athletes on this Wednesday, May 13,
2015, at 2:45 p.m., in the gym. Mr. Major will be conducting this meeting regarding the upcoming CMA
Varsity Athletic Banquet, on May 28, 2015. All varsity athletes are encourage to attend this meeting.
