Investigate wild birds while mapping
out local natural areas by bike. Scout
out hidden birds along Corvallis’
hidden trails. Design and build habitat,
houses and feeders as we discover
birds. Multiple field trip days by bike;
we may meet at other locations on
Tuesday and Wednesday. Cost: $170
One day of Rock climbing at Flagstone,
overnight camping, and one day of
white water rafting the McKenzie
River. From blasting volcanoes to
rushing rivers dive into real wilderness
geology; hike to mountain peaks, bike
down valleys and climb rocky river
beds. Cost: $435
Geared for girls, this camp will explore
nature through advanced art using
natural materials as inspiration: basket
making, rock tumbling, jewelry making,
flower pressing, photography and
more! Cost $170
Take Native Survivor to the next level
by learning the skills you need for
wilderness survival. Master flint
knapping, primitive tool building,
creating cordage, basket weaving, and
building food resources. Discover the
seven uses of cattails, medicinal
plants, and learn to tell time from the

River Survival Expedition

Are you prepared for life in the wild?
This week of expedition camp includes
orienteering, raft building, bow-drilling
fires and more! Three days and twonights of rafting over 70 miles of the
Willamette River and island camping!
This camp is a real outdoor survivalist
dream come true! Cost: $589
Learn to use GPS devises and
orienteering skills to track down
hidden surprises. Create new
geocaching locations and invent fun
ways to hide them all while
discovering local trees and ecology.

High Altitude Adventures
Aug 17 - 21
Start this excursion with two days at
Smith Rock learning basic rock
climbing and repelling skills. That
summit is just the beginning of this
camp! Next up, white water rafting for
two days and three nights of
wilderness camping to discover
Oregon wildlife. Cost: $809
cascadia expeditions
These Advanced Adventure Camps are for middle school students entering 6th – 8th grade. Adventures are guided by trained Naturalists and students will
use maps, gps, and tracking skills to find trails and explore nature. Each camp offers different experiences and vary in price.
Adventures with Cascadia Expeditions will include rafting and rock climbing with overnight wilderness camping. These exciting camps include van
transportation to wilderness locations, camping & food supplies, and wilderness safety gear. Highly trained expedition staff will lead adventures. A Nature
Center lead educator will accompany students and facilitate unique activities throughout the week to complete the experience. COMPLETE DETAILS ONLINE.

Follow trails and track down animal clues as
we solve real wildlife mysteries. Learn to
track vertebrates with fins, wings, paws,
scales, feathers and fur.
Blast off into space exploring the mysteries
of Earth. Discover the power of our planet
from the sun’s rays to decaying dinosaurs.
There are worms, slugs, spiders, beetles,
millipedes and aquatic wigglers all around.
Get your hands dirty catching, netting, and
jumping into the world of bugs!
Hit the trails to discover what bats, bees,
butterflies and birds all have in common.
Buzz, flap and rise on the currents of a
high flying adventure!

Oh My! From the smallest shrew to the
largest whale, mammals are born with fur
or hair. Pounce like a bobcat in the dark
of night and leap like squirrels from
branches high!
Arrows, bows, trade, games and storytelling
were once all part of everyday life in the
Willamette Valley. Journey into the past with
Pacific NW Native American life through flint
knapping, shelter building, foraging and the
importance of fire.

Birding & Building
July 13th – 17th
Soar with the osprey, hoot with the owls,
and rap with the woodpeckers as we
ascend into the world of birds. Build bird
houses, create a habitat for hummingbirds,
learn bird calls and get a close up look at
local species!
GeoCaching Treasure Hunt
August 10th - 14th
X marks the spot! Nature exploration and
treasure hunting collide as we go on a
bicycling adventure to find Geocaches in
our local parks. Look for clues, practice
‘take one, leave one’, use GPS technology
and learn the role of trees in the habitats
around us.
This is a beginner to advanced nature bike camp
and is open to bike learners on pedal free bikes.
Students will be put into groups based on their
bicycling ability. During every bike camp we
review bike safety and bicycle care. Please visit

Ocean Odyssey
July 20th - 24th
From coastal tide pools to the ocean deep,
dive into an underwater world where fish
swim with whales, crabs, sea turtles,
otters and other amazing deep
sea creatures.
Wild Animal Artists
August 17th – 21st
Get hands-on with live animals at the
nature center from scaly reptiles to fuzzy
mammals. Learn nature sketching and
journaling techniques with wildlife and their
habitats as your subject.
Get your feet wet and hands dirty exploring
rivers from sandy banks to tangled plants.
Invent ways to build rafts, dams, bridges
and roads to help aquatic life.
Travel the Willamette river to investigate
historic floods, developing islands, boggy
wetlands and local species. Then spend
Thursday rafting the Willamette with
River Spirit Journeys.
Nature Play Summer Classes Ages 3 - 5: Thursdays this Summer! Choose between AM (9:00-11:30) or PM (12:30-3:00)
Each session costs $72, or $20 per individual class. The main goal of our
Natureplay program is to facilitate a deep connection between students
and their environment. We tell stories, sing, play movement games and
provide time for reflection through art projects and creative play.

our favorite treats from the ground up!
Spend the week at SAGE making sweet
and savory pizzas in our cobb oven.
Grind wheat, turn milk into cheese,
make sauce from tomatoes and more.

SAGE Family Mornings
In The Garden
Garden life depends on these busy,
buzzing pollinators. Suit up and explore
bee hives, build a bee box, harvest
honey and make beeswax candles.
Tuesdays from July - August we offer
family-friendly garden art projects that
are appropriate for all ages. No registration required. Arrive between 10AM &
NOON ready to get messy!
