Approval of the Minutes of the Annual Meeting held on Wednesday,
August 28, 2013.
Motion: That the Minutes of the Annual Meeting held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 be approved as
circulated. Carried unanimously.
Business Arising from the Special Meeting held on October 15, 2013
(minutes and response attached).

President
Monique Bernier reported that the highlights of her 5 years as president, have been to:
• oversee the independence of the Canadian Remote Sensing Society /Société canadienne de
télédétection from the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute;
• help guide the Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing to a new publisher and publishing model;
and
• organize and lead IGARSS 2014 / 35th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing.
Vice-President
Anne Smith presented CRSS-SCT awards of recognition to:
• Monique Bernier for her role as IGARSS 2014 / 35th CSRS General Conference Chair.
• Josée Lévesque for her role as Co-Director of the IGARSS 2014 / 35th CSRS Technical Program
Committee.
• Jean-Marc Garneau for his role as Co-Director of the IGARSS 2014 / 35th CSRS Technical Program
Committee.
• Ellsworth LeDrew for his role as Co-Director of the IGARSS 2014 / 35th CSRS Technical Program
Committee.
• Derek Peddle for his role in leading the CRSS-SCT through independence from CASI.
Secretary-Treasurer
Joe Piwowar reported that:
• CRSS-SCT bank balance at 31 March 2014: $64,082

2013 Conferences:
– International MultiTemp 2013: $17,175 surplus.
– 34th CSRS Victoria:
$20,240 surplus.
IGARSS 2014 / 35th CSRS:
– $43,127 loan advanced by CRSS-SCT (before 31 March) will be repaid.
– CRSS-SCT and IEEE GRSS will share financial loss/surplus 50%:50%. We anticipate a
surplus.
Motion [Niemann/Trietz]: That the Canadian Remote Sensing Society / Société canadienne de
télédétection appoints Don K. McMillan Chartered Accountant Professional Corporation to be the
financial auditor for 2014-2015. Carried Unanimously.
Working Group 1: Member Services
Ahmed Shaker reported that:
• They are initiating new CRSS-SCT Chapters
o Developed Terms of Reference
o Chapters established in Toronto, Lethbridge, Atlantic Chapters / additional interest
elsewhere: e.g. 5 in western Canada, Québec
o Ottawa Chapter: Funding approved for 2014. 2015 proposal submitted.
• Developed a member benefits document: on website.
• Recommended reduced student membership fee: $25 (accepted).
• Considering: CRSS-SCT being an Associate member with ISPRS.
Working Group 2: Communications
On behalf of Andrew Davidson, Joe Piwowar reported that:
• www.CRSS-SCT.ca website is functioning and is continually being improved.
o Online membership join/renew.
o CRSS-SCT Store.
o Space for CRSS-SCT Chapters to add their own content.
• Involved in Canadian Geomatics Community Round Table (CGCRT)
• In progress:
o Analysis of marketing channels for better use of social media.
o Development of conference website template for future symposia (based on CSRS 2012)
o Addition of educational material to website (e.g. hosting CCRS Tutorials on request of
NRCan)
