Riverfront Park Fountain Committee Proposal – D. Knorr
On 9/25/2014, the Parks & Recreation Committee directed Dan to work with the Fountain
Committee to create a draft fountain agreement that would define the responsibilities of
each party and clarify any questions relating to maintenance reimbursement going forward.
A draft agreement was provided to Fountain Committee members Bonnie Trump and Dean
VonBlohn on 10/21/2014. However, after noting numerous concerns they had regarding
their on-going responsibilities and the viability of a long-term agreement, a counterproposal
has been made to the Parks & Recreation Committee: in exchange for the Borough taking
full ownership and responsibility for the Riverfront Park fountain and its maintenance, the
Fountain Committee will transfer its remaining money in the amount of $9,012.36 to the
Borough to be placed in a fund and drawn on for any fountain-related expenses.
