To commemorate the Labour Day and to appreciate and acknowledge the hardwork of the class four
employees, who work with full dedication and ensure the hygiene and security of the school, the Interact
Club and Social Science Department of DAV Dwarka celebrated Labour Day on 1st May 2015.
A special assembly was organized on the occasion. The celebrations began with a speech delivered by
Aslesha of class VIII, which highlighted the role of Class four employees in school life. The students were
acquainted with the history behind Labour Day celebrations. The informative speech was followed by an
English poem by Indrakant of CLASS X, lauding the ceaseless efforts of the work force of the nation and the
school in particular. A Fancy Dress Show was presented by students of class V showcasing the invaluable
workers from different walks of our society like mason, porter, rickshaw puller, sweeper etc.
The Interact Club students expressed their love and regard by making handmade cards and badges for the
workers of the school. Their tokens of love were presented to the workers by the teachers of the school. The
workers were also presented with biscuit packets. Principal Ms. Monika Mehan also expressed her
gratitude towards the workers for providing safe and healthy school environment and said that the future
generation needs to be made aware of the importance of the working class and students must learn to
appreciate their efforts. Workers were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed their thanks
towards the Principal, teachers and students for their endeavor.
