Job Title: Trainer
Report to: Training Manager
Department: HertsRITE, Druglink
Location: Office (Hemel Hempstead moving to Berkhamsted) and various locations
across Hertfordshire
Salary: Dependent upon experience
Purpose
The Trainer is an integral member of the Training Dept. and will be expected to prepare
and deliver high level educational training sessions for HertsRITE, to both the workforce
and schools across Hertfordshire.
The focus of the training will largely be substance misuse and associated topics and the
role will be required to identify the need for new courses in both the workforce and
schools, developing new courses and producing the materials as necessary. The trainer
will also need to develop eLearning courses as required to refresh the offering through
HertsRITE.
The post will involve working closely with Druglink partners and other agencies to build
and manage relationships to secure new business. The trainer position works with and
supports educational environments’ such as schools, colleges & universities as well as
workforce development with organizations.

Main Tasks
 To monitor new trends in substance misuse, researching and using an evidence
based model of information sharing
 To create new training material to the intended audience courses and deliver these
courses as required
 To monitor and evaluate effectiveness of programmes developed and delivered by
building an evaluation and recording system that embraces an evidence based
approach to work and outcomes
 To write and build eLearning programmes for the workforce and schools using
Articulate
 To establish close working relationships with educational environments and
partner organisations
 To constantly review and develop new programs and mediums of delivery that are
cutting edge and innovative
 To be an available resource for schools / businesses to consult with in relation to
drug and alcohol issues
 To expand the scope of the service to private organisations in Hertfordshire and
surrounding counties and schools outside of Dacorum
 To assist schools and organisations in developing their drug and alcohol policies
 To develop close working relationships with colleagues, schools and
organisations building a rapport that facilitates ongoing work and mutual
understanding
 To maintain excellent liaison with external partners and colleagues while
promoting Druglink and its services
 To contribute to the delivery of a high quality service in line with the service
specifications and contractual requirements
 To maintain the values, policies and procedures of Druglink and the external
Standards and legislation to which Druglink must conform
Previous experience
The post holder should have experience of working in drug and alcohol misuse fields and
also hold a qualification in training, or have at least 5 years proven previous experience
of writing and delivering training. It is also a requirement that the post holder has
previous experience of working with young people and can engage well with a younger
audience.
Working Conditions
The post worker will be required to work at schools and training venues across
Hertfordshire. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
