Preparing, Packaging and Burning LinkOne Books to CD
This document is intended to assist users to prepare, package and burn LinkOne books to a CD or zip
file for delivery to clients.
Installing Selected LinkOne Books to a New Location
NOTE: The following steps are suggested methods and, when these applied to your
environment, may require some changes to suit your specific environment. For
example, C drive may not be where this task is to be performed, so replace this with
settings applicable to your environment.
Prepare the LinkOne books as follows:
1. Open Windows Explorer and create a specific directory to install the LinkOne books to be
burnt to CD, eg C:\CD Burning\LinkOne.
2. Open LinkOne WinView.
3. In LinkOne WinView, Go to Tools > Configuration.
4. Select Libraries from the left hand menu.

5. Select the Add Library button above the Libraries window.
6. Navigate to C:\CD Burning\LinkOne, and select OK.

7. Select the Install Books icon located above the Libraries window.
8. A Ventyx LinkOne Install Books Wizard dialog opens (if the checkbox ‘Don’t show this welcome
page again’ has previously been selected, this window will not appear).
9. Select Next.
10. Select File based library.

11. Select the Browse button in Library location.
12. Navigate to the library holding the built LinkOne book to be burnt to CD, eg: C:\LinkOne, Click
Next.
13. In the Choose The Books To Install window, open the Publishers tree structure and select the
LinkOne books to be burnt to CD.
14. Click Next.
15. In the Chose the Destination Library window, select the library (local or network) where the
books are to be installed, eg: C:\CD Burning\LinkOne.
16. Click Next.

17. An Installing The Books window shows the status of the installation. Allow this process to
complete.
18. Click Finish.
Preparing the CD/DVD or Zip File
Prepare a CD/DVD using your DVD Burning Application and burn the contents of the directory eg C:\CD
Burning, ensuring that LinkOne will be the top level directory on the CD/DVD.
Prepare a zip file using your Compressing program (eg WinZip) and select the LinkOne folder to
compress.
Checking the Burnt CD/DVD
Check the CD/DVD as follows:
1. Insert the CD/DVD into the DVD drive.
2. Open LinkOne WinView.
3. Install the CD/DVD drive as a library, selecting the LinkOne folder, not the OEM folder (refer to
Installing Selected LinkOne Books to a New Location).
4. Disable all other active libraries by selecting the library and clicking the
of the Libraries window.
5. Go to File > Open Book > Browse.
6. The library and LinkOne books should be visible.
7. Open the LinkOne book and check that it views correctly.
