A Summer Mathematics Institute for teachers of grades K-5
Complete your registration and payment by May 28, 2015 to save on registration fees.
Join us July 27th-31st as we explore and share problems, tasks, games, and
activities designed to enhance children’s genuine understanding of mathematics
and its connections to thinking, reasoning, and real world problem solving.
Together with mathematics educators and teacher leaders, you will:
✔Increase your familiarity with the Common Core State Standards for
Kindergarten – 5th Grade
✔Explore a variety of math activities, tasks, and games designed to develop
and enhance student understanding of key mathematical ideas
✔Work with colleagues to:
• Design and modify activities that focus on deepening students mathematical
thinking, reasoning, and understanding of key math concepts and skills
• Create exciting lessons that can immediately be used with your students
✔Gain the confidence needed to engage students in these new standards.

Regular registration: $475 after 12:00PM of May 28th

(Registration includes morning snack, lunch, and teacher materials)
Extras: •Certificate of completion for 30 professional development hours in
mathematics will be awarded to teachers who complete the Institute.
•Optional 3.0 Continuing Education Units through UC Extension will be
available for purchase at an additional cost of $130, pending approval.

Registration and Cancellation Policy: I understand that upon submission of this registration, I am
responsible for the full registration fee payment — early discounted fee of $435 due at UCDMP office by
12:00PM on May 28th; $475 after 12:00PM of May 28th; $500 after 12:00PM on July 9th. Cancellations must be
received in writing via email by noon on July 9th and are subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to 20% of the
registration fee. After July 9th, substitutions are allowed but no refunds will be made. Unpaid no-shows or latecancellations will be billed the full registration amount of $475 plus $25 late payment fee. To cancel, send an
email to Thu Pham at [email protected].
All payments (registration or cancellation) or PO must be received by July 9th to avoid a $25 late payment fee.
