IT ASSISTANTS ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.ROLE
1.1 Purpose:The purpose of the job is to facilitate the implementation of InformationTechnology in a given campus of CITY
MONTESSORI SCHOOL or at CMS Head Office.
As part of their role the IT Assistant will be supporting all aspects of technology currently available in the campus. The role will
expand with any new technology introduced in future.
1.2 Report To: Principal of the campus or any authorized person in the campus.
1.3 Working Hours: 8 Hours
o Leaves taken + Extra Hours worked –Prior permission from Principal and inform E-Learning Department.
o Overtime – No Overtime will be paid. Extra hours can be taken off in lieu prior to principal’s permission.
o Conveyance- To be given for travelling to Campuses for Meeting/Training purposes
1.4 Duties: The duties of the IT Assistant cover the following main areas:
1.4.1 E-LEARNING
 Training and general maintenance of Smart Classes
 Support e-learning initiatives of the school
 Diagnose and troubleshooting faults and provide general technical support
 Monitoring tools and reports
 Provide assistance and training to staff
 Documentation and preparing reports
 Training of teachers in use of Interactive whiteboards in the classroom
 Perform light administrative duties on network servers
 Perform system upgrades as necessary for software and hardware related components as needed
 Monitor backup procedures and perform occasional recoveries to ensure backup integrity
 Assisting vendors and service providers of IT equipment and supplies for efficient and effective operations
 Liaising with the Head, E-Learning & IT Training Department
1.4.2 IT TRAINING
 Deliver training to staff in using computers and other technologies
 Individual or group training sessions
 Mentoring and support in using computers to all staff members
 Evaluation and feedback
 Reporting and progress tracking
 Liaising with the Head, E-Learning & IT Training Department
1.4.3 ERP
 Data entry and reporting
 Training and assisting staff members
 Documentation
 Liaising with the ERP department at CMS Head Office
1.4.4 TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
 General Data Entry
 Supporting Staff
 Liaising with the ERP department at CMS Head Office
1.4.5 CAMPUS WEBSITE MAINTENANCE
 Maintaining the Campus Website

Liaising with WUED at CMS H.O
Note: Apart from above duties the person will be participating and contributing in all the activities necessary for the smooth
functioning of the campus and will do any other work reasonably assigned by the campus Principal.
2. RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Daily Tasks
 Start of the day:
1. Switch on Server
2. Sync Server
3. Check Emails (gmail/cmseducation.org)
 IWB Faults
4. Check all the classrooms (Carry Fault Register)
5. Update Fault Register
6. Unresolved faults to be updated on Google Drive
7. Send an Email of NOT RESOLVED faults to [email protected]
 Training
8. Plan Training on:
 TATA Class Edge
 Teaching Staff
 Smart Notebook
 Teaching Staff
 IT Training
 Teaching Staff
 Non-Teaching Staff
9. Booking for the Training at IT Training Centre in CMS, Gomti Nagar Campus-2
10. Update Training Register
11. Update the Training on Google Drive or Whats App Group
 Other Tasks
12. Training Details & Content Issues to be updated on Google Drive
13. Any ERP/TMS/WEBSITE work
 End of the day
14. Fill Work Diary
15. Switch Off Server
16. Check all IWB Classrooms

Send following reports on weekly basis to HO every Saturday via DAK (signed by Principal)

- To take signature of the teachers whom training has been provided
 Fault Register
- To note the faults related to IWB

- Content Issues related to TATA Class Edge
 Conveyance/Meeting Register -To maintain the attendance record & Conveyance allowance for
meeting/training sessions attended other than your respective campuses
