Individual Support for Families: Our team consists of Early
Childhood Educators, Child Health Nurses, Family Support
Workers, a Psychologist and a Speech Pathologist. Each
group is staffed by these workers and individual support is
also available. Phone the centre for more information.
Cairns Early Years Centre Kindergarten: A Lady Gowrie
affiliated kindergarten at Bentley Park. Phone 4034 6888

Infant Massage: Learn the gift of nurturing touch
in a 5 week course.
ABC Music & Me: A Kindermusik program using songs,
instruments and dance to promote early literacy and self
confidence in young learners aged 3 and over.
Indy for Kindy: A readiness program for children who
will be kindergarten age in 2015.
Explorers Playgroup: A playgroup for children with a
disability, or for children whose parents have a concern
regarding their child’s development. Ages 0-3 years.
Siblings are welcome.
Child Health : Child health nurses are present at most of
our playgroups. You are also welcome to make an
appointment to have your baby weighed or have a
developmental assessment.
Gordonvale PaCE:
Parental and Community Engagement – Supporting
indigenous parents and families to engage and foster
connections with their children’s school/s.
Toy Library: Toys and games available for a fortnight
loan from our Centre at Bentley Park. Open: Tuesday
and Friday 9:00–10:00am Wednesday and Thursday
3:00– 4:00pm.
Saver Plus: Tips to get on top of your financial situation
and earn matched savings for educational equipment as
you save.
White Rock, Edmonton and Woree PaCE Supporting parents
and carers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young
people ( 0 – 19 years) to ‘reach in’ to educational settings
and engage in their children’s education through advocacy,
support, transport and referral services. Working with
education providers from Woree to Edmonton.
Incredible Years: A 10 week course that allows you to meet
other parents & build on your parenting skills. You will
increase your understanding of how to use play to build your
relationship with your child and how to promote positive
behaviour.
Circle of Security: A relationship based parenting program to
help you understand your child’s emotional world and
strengthen skills in observing and connecting with your child.
Marte Meo: ‘On One’s Own Strengths’. The central focus of the
Marte Meo programme is to help you to identify strengths and
develop skills to enhance your child’s development through
constructive interactions.
Parents and Learning (PaL):
Home based program promoting literacy and numeracy and
empowering parents as their children’s first teachers.
NOTE: Not all programs run every term and only a limited
number or programs are offered at Marlin Coast and
Gordonvale. Please see Bentley Park timetable for other
programs.
