Registration is open to all university students, IT
specialist and developers with an interest in business
development, data, apps and internet solutions.
Big Data and the associated discipline of Machine Learning are starting to become part of everybody’s lives – for
good and bad. Bill Gates, founder and former chairman
of Microsoft, emphasized that fact by stating that “a
breakthrough in Machine Learning would be worth ten
Microsofts”.
DTU and Microsoft are committed to the new wave of
technology and, together, we therefore invite you to the
Big Data Hackathon.
Location
The Hackathon takes place at DTU Skylab, Diplomvej,
building 373A, Lyngby.
At the Hackathon you will have the opportunity to:

Create value of Big Data using the latest knowledge
and tools within Computer Science, Machine Learning
and Cyber Security.
Develop secure Big Data solutions to real society
challenges using open public data from various
Danish authorities - respecting privacy and anonymity.
Get hands-on experience with Azure – one of the Big
Data tools. Please bring your own PC.
Cooperate with students and employees in companies and have a dialogue with the suppliers of public
data.
Present your solution to a panel of judges representing a wide range of Danish businesses and academia.
Prizes
1st prize: DKK 15.000, 2nd prize: DKK 10.000, and 3rd
prize: DKK 5.000
