Letter From the Program Chair
Mark your calendar now for the 27th Annual Meeting of the Eastern Neuroradiological Society, September 4-7 2015. This will be a wonderful
chance to bring the family and join your peers at The Hotel Viking in breathtaking Newport, Rhode Island over Labor Day weekend.
The 2015 program reflects the tireless efforts along with broad and in-depth domain expertise of our Program Committee (Drs. Amish H. Doshi,
Christopher G. Filippi, Reza Forghani, Dheeraj Gandhi, Andrei I. Holodny, Thierry A. G. M. Huisman, Puneet S. Pawha, Pina C. Sanelli, Timothy M. Shepherd,
and Eugene Yu) and has distinct blocks of focused 20-minute talks on the latest in stroke, tumor, white matter disease, spine, head and neck, and
pediatrics, as well as cutting-edge and interventional techniques.
Over 70 ENRS members will contribute as speakers and moderators. There are several pairs of 10-minute talks from our more junior members
and 30-minute hallmark presentations from our most accomplished, highlighting each day’s programming. MOC-style case reviews embedded
in each of the subtopic sessions will prepare both in-training attendees as well as those of us in the MOC cycle for both initial certification and
recertification. Scientific paper sessions coordinated by Program Committee members Drs. Reza Forghani and Eugene Yu will fill out the academic
program. An encore performance by Dr. Joshua Bemporad in “Stump the Stars” will stir the competitive juices and Dr. C. Douglas Phillips will take a
select group through the challenges of imaging “Jeopardy.”
The collegial and relaxed setting of the ENRS Annual Meetings provide a terrific opportunity to socialize and share knowledge. Newport is a
seaside city on Aquidneck Island in Newport County. Located 23 miles south of Providence, and 61 miles south of Boston, Newport was known for
being the city of some of the “Summer White Houses” during the administrations of Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy. Known
as a New England summer resort and for the famous Newport Mansions and a major 18th-century port city, Newport now contains among the
highest number of surviving colonial buildings of any city in the United States.
Newport is a nationally recognized Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community and home to many beaches, public and private. In Newport, the largest
public beach, Easton's Beach, or First Beach, has a view of the famed Cliff Walk which is considered one of the most popular attractions in the
city. It is a 3.5-mile (5.6 km) public access walkway bordering the shoreline, and has been designated a National Recreation Trail. For many years
Newport was home to the series of yacht races for the America's Cup. The International Tennis Hall of Fame is also located in Newport. Newport
is also home to the Newport Country Club. The historical club has played host to the 2007 Women's US Open and the 1995 Men’s US Amateurs
tournaments.
I am confident that this will be a worthwhile learning experience in a gorgeous setting that will allow those that accompany you to enjoy all
of the wonderful activities and events in the surrounding area. We look forward to seeing and welcoming you and your families on Labor Day
weekend.

12 Meter Charters’ Sailing Tours
Set sail aboard the legendary 12 Meter yachts of Newport!
Not your typical harbor cruise, 12 Meter Charters' ticketed cruises combine the history of Newport, Rhode Island with the unparalleled experience of sailing on an
America's Cup contender. Enjoy historic Newport sights including Fort Adams and the Newport Bridge, lighthouses and lavish estates, aircraft carriers and historic

During your sail, if you wish, you may participate in the sailing or just sit back and enjoy the sights of Newport! The captain and crew on board will help
those willing to be involved in the sailing. As with all of 12 Meter Charters' events, no sailing experience is necessary to enjoy the thrill of sailing on our
America's Cup 12 Meters. With our experienced crews, sailing participation from our guests is welcomed but never required. Take part in the sailing
of an America's Cup 12 Meter or just relax and enjoy the scenic views of Narragansett Bay.
