PERU – Severe weather
Since October 2014 heavy rain, hail,
snowfall, thunderstorms, floods, landslides
have affected several areas of Peru, causing
damage and deaths. According to the latest
INDECI reports (as of 6 April 2015), more than
155 000 people were affected and 43
people were killed across the country.

PERU – Volcanic Activity
Ubinas volcano, situated in the southern
Peruvian department of Moquegua, erupted in
the morning of 8 April, ejecting ash up to a
height of 2.5 km. According to media, the ash
reached an area of at least 15 km from the
Volcano in the south-east direction, including
the nearby villages of Escacha and Ubinas
Valley. (ECHO, INDECI, INGEMMET, Media)
