You are invited to join the Southeast Washington
Design Cohort for the Smarter Balanced Digital
Library!
9:00AM
to
2:00PM
Our cohort will work to deepen our understanding of Smarter
Balanced Assessment item specifications and the formative
assessment process with which resources in the Digital
Library are constructed.
Ultimately, we endeavor to submit our original work for
publication in the Smarter Balanced Digital Library.
Our Goals:
™™ Deepen our understanding of SBAC item specifications
and item construction
™™ Examine existing units/lessons for opportunities to infuse
with SBAC-style items
™™ Design new units/lessons based on the formative
assessment process and item specifications
Attendees must have:
™™ Background in teaching grades 9-12

™™ Strong understanding of the Common Core State
Standards for ELA/Literacy

20 Clock hours available
™™ Desire to create resources for colleagues in our region
