Dear EYP Cyprus Alumni,
The European Parliament Information Office (EPIO) Cyprus is organising an educational trip to
Brussels which aims to bring young individuals within the European institutions and provide a firsthand experience on the workings of the European Parliament, European Commission and their
Members. The educational trip to Brussels is a unique opportunity for members of the European
Youth Parliament Cyprus to contextualise their knowledge on European politics and any previous
experience with the organisation whilst interacting with Members of the European Parliament and
other staff.
The trip is set to take place between Wednesday 24th to Saturday 27th June 2015.
The group will be comprised of 30 individuals aged 18-30 and EYP Cyprus has been allocated 10
places. Other participants will include 10 Greek-Cypriot and 10 Turkish-Cypriot elementary school
teachers.
The visit will include, amongst others:







Visit to the European Parliament and participation at a mini- parliamentarian session
Visit and lunch at the European Commission
Visit to the European Economic and Social Committee
Visit to the Committee of the Regions
Visit to the Parliamentarium
Meeting with Members of the European Parliament
Afternoon and evening activities
The trip will be partially funded by the European Parliament at the agreed amount of 400 EUR
per person.
The total cost of the trip is anticipated to cost approximately €550 per person (to be confirmed at a
later stage) which includes return flights from Cyprus to Brussels, transport to and from the airport,
accommodation at 3* hotel and all activities within the European institutions.
