The module is designed to provide students with a solid foundation for advanced knowledge
and skills in the use and applications of satellite remote sensing technology to a range of
environmental issues and problems confronting Borneo. These issues include, but not
limited, to drought and wildfires, tropical forest productivity, habitat loss, coastal/estuarine
depletion, and peatland resources. The module will also provide new information on current
trends in geo-spatial technologies and research, and how these could be applied to manage
and provide possible solutions to local (Borneo) environmental problems.
