SPECIAL HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMANCE from THEATRE LILA!
THE MOJO AND THE SAYSO
PH FEB 19, 23, 24
9:30 AM
Theatre LILA asks: what artistic action can we take to be a part of the important
conversations surrounding the new civil rights movement inspired by the deaths
of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, John Crawford, and now Madison's
own Tony Robinson? We found our answer in The Mojo and The Sayso, Aishah
Rahman's lyrical and realist drama about one family dealing with such a loss. The
play tells the story of how one African-American family’s strength and faith are
tested as they search for a talisman powerful enough to save them after the
senseless death of their young son. With compassion, humor, and a unique
sense of language, Aishah Rahman guides you on a journey where the distinctions between comedy, fantasy, and tragedy disappear.
All tickets for this performance are $9.
Study Guides will be provided by Theatre LILA and a talk-back with the cast and director will follow
the performance. Running Time: approximately 1:45. Bring your lessons to life OnStage with a field trip to Overture Center!
We are delighted to announce our 27th season of bringing high-quality live performing arts to students. We hope
that you are able to join us for live performances to enrich and educate your students. To deepen your
