The scientific papers I have signed as member of the CDF Collaboration show, in
time, different affiliations: University and INFN of Pisa; University of Pisa and INFN
of Pavia; University and INFN of Pavia. This is the mere consequence of a change
of author policies in the CDF Collaboration. Visiting scientists were initially affiliated
to the main collaborating Institution from their Country (Pisa, for Italy). Then INFN
did require the name of each local unity to appear as funding agency. Finally, the
signing rules were relaxed, and individual contributions were fully recognized. In spite
of these changes, all my papers do count as Departement of Physics and INFN of
Pavia contributions for ANVUR and VQR evaluations: it’s my actual affiliation that
determines the institutional attribution of my publications.

In a period of 22 years I have been teaching for 20 years. I taught an average of
70 hours/year, significantly more than 50 hours/year, the standard usually done
(even if not required) by an Adjunt Professor.
My teaching experience spans from problem solving for Math and Physics students to basic Physics and Radioactivity for students of the medical professions; from Modern Physics and Radioactivity to Foundations of Physics for
advanced students in Physics and Mathematics.
Between 2008 and today I have written a specially tailored book for the course
of Foundations of Physics (see Publications), that is available to students in a
PDF format, and will be published in 2015.

During the years, I have covered different duties for DFNT (Dipartimento di Fisica
Nucleare e Teorica) and recently for Dipartimento di Fisica. I have been involved
for a long time (14 years) in an exchange program designed to bring Italian
students to Fermilab during the summertime. An average of 15 physicist and
engineers were coming every year to work in different research groups within
the laboratory. Many of them have found a way to stay for a Ph.D. thesis, a
temporary contract or a permanent position.
