A Message from the Director of Human Resources, James Woods
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the warm
reception I have received upon my arrival at Flagler County School
District. The incredible support from all the employees at the
school district has been inspiring. Human Resources are the most
valuable and unique assets of an organization. The successful
management of an organization's human resources is an exciting,
dynamic and challenging task, especially at a time when the world
has become a global village and organizations have to become
more strategic in order to keep pace. The scarcity of talented resources and the
growing expectations of the modern day worker have further increased the
complexity of the human resources function. As the Director of Human Resources, I
am looking forward to diving into my new role in supporting the District’s mission,
vision and guiding principals. I want to emphasize that the Human Resources
Department is a “client-focused” entity who strives to provide exceptional service to
our customers.

What is a “403(b)” Plan?
Named for the section of the of the Internal Revenue Code that created it, 403(b)
plans enable an employer to offer an annuity contract or mutual fund custodial
account to employees. Employees can make pre-tax contributions and if the plan
permits, Roth after-tax contribution. A 403(b) plan allows you to contribute more
